Newbie Meet N' Greet

Meet n' Greet, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat! Unfortunately, the newbie meet and greet takes place the same time the command staff is congregating, so they might be a little late to the party.

But the crew is there to welcome the newcomers and explain their situation. At the end of the milling and spilling about, the command staff is going to start a general meeting to apprise everyone of their situation and discuss their next course of action:

Getting off the damn ship.

Despite the fact that he was still reeling from the fact that, hey, not only is he NOT the only Batman here, but he's NOT going to BE Batman anymore, Jean-Paul wandered his way to where Sensor and Brainiac had set up shop.

"Wh...what are those?" Jean-Paul asked, still half-out of it.

"These are omnicoms and communication rings," Jeka said, holding one of each out to the understandably bewildered new member of the crew. "The former allows for non-verbal communication among the crew members, and the latter, verbal."

Jean-Paul looked at the devices curiously. His brain rattled at the thought of using them (which was probably zero to none), but, none the less he decided to take them... just in case.

"...it's... probably for the best... even if I DON'T need them."

"We insist that you take them, in fact," Jeka said, pressing the omnicom and ring into his hands. "The ship can be quite dangerous, and it's important that we be able to contact everyone, just in case."
