Newbie Meet N' Greet

Meet n' Greet, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat! Unfortunately, the newbie meet and greet takes place the same time the command staff is congregating, so they might be a little late to the party.

But the crew is there to welcome the newcomers and explain their situation. At the end of the milling and spilling about, the command staff is going to start a general meeting to apprise everyone of their situation and discuss their next course of action:

Getting off the damn ship.

Red Snout was wandering amongst the crowd, looking over the new arrivals, and the older ones he didn't know. He paused as he spotted two humans with the brightly colored hair conversing, then approached, rifle and bandolier clattering.

"Hm. More humans. Bah."

Not a species that she recognized, though there was something similar in the Tangosi system. Any species that was so very clearly predatory needed to be watched closely. Humans were delicacies on some worlds.

"Does seem to be the majority here. I was wondering if I was back in Empire controlled space."

Asuka had been about to introduce herself. Then the talking dinosaur had walked up and for a moment Asuka had been terrified, before she buried it with indignation and anger.

"You know, it's rude to just barge in on people. And of course we're human! What else would be? We're the dominant form of life on Earth!"

She waved a hand dismissively and glanced at Mara curiously, "The Empire? What's that?"

Hm. The older one seemed decent enough. The younger one obviously needed to learn manners, though. Of course, that she stood up to him was rather telling of her personality. He could respect that.

"We are not on Earth." He bluntly pointed out before turning his gaze back to Mara.

"Yes, what is the Empire? I have not heard of such a thing."

"I've never heard of Earth, so I really don't care what the dominant life form is there." Mara shrugged dismissively before considering the predator. "The Empire is a government, controlling a handful of sectors these days. They're not fond of aliens, they prefer humans."

Which probably explained why there were so many non-humans in the fringes of society. Such as smugglers.
