Newbie Meet N' Greet

Meet n' Greet, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat! Unfortunately, the newbie meet and greet takes place the same time the command staff is congregating, so they might be a little late to the party.

But the crew is there to welcome the newcomers and explain their situation. At the end of the milling and spilling about, the command staff is going to start a general meeting to apprise everyone of their situation and discuss their next course of action:

Getting off the damn ship.

Picard did chuckle at Buffy's reply. "Censusing, Miss Summers. We're getting numbers so the senior command crew know who is aboard and who isn't. We try to keep our crew roster as up to date as possible."

"Oh, right. Right. I knew that. Totally." Buffy gave Picard her most I'm-as-smart-as-Willow smile.

It fell a little short.

You know. Buffy. Pretty girl.

"Of course," Picard replied, his tone completely lacking in any sarcasm (which, oddly, might have made the statement sound all the more sarcastic).

Buffy caught that! She did! "Just because I'm blonde and petite and, you know, obviously girly and...I have a brain, okay? I mean, I might not be Marie Curry...Curie? Curry? Whoever. I might not be her, but I did pretty well on my SATs, thank you."

Picard couldn't help it. He laughed. "It's quite all right, Miss Summers. I intended no disrespect."

Was he doing the whole 'aww, she's so cute in her wannabe fury let's laugh at her' thing? Coz she could totally drop kick him faster than Donald Trump could fire someone.

Instead, she just settled for lightly glaring before turning on her heel and stalking away.

"Those are the weird hologram rooms, like?" She was so gonna pretend to be Jem in one of those at some point.
