Newbie Meet N' Greet

Meet n' Greet, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat! Unfortunately, the newbie meet and greet takes place the same time the command staff is congregating, so they might be a little late to the party.

But the crew is there to welcome the newcomers and explain their situation. At the end of the milling and spilling about, the command staff is going to start a general meeting to apprise everyone of their situation and discuss their next course of action:

Getting off the damn ship.

"Hm. This explains much. I have met someone from your world, aboard this ship. Mr... Harris, was it? Yes, I believe it was Harris."

Buffy's mouth dropped open in a small "o". "Harris. As in Alexander Lave...er...Xander Harris? Kind of cute in a boyishly charming way, eyepatch, lots of witty remarks? About yay tall," she asked, indicating a height far above her own with her hand. "That Harris?" There was a glimmer of desperate hope in her eyes.

"I would contest some of those adjectives, but yes."

Buffy brought the scythe forward just a little bit. "He's my best friend, so I don't think you're contesting much of anything, spanky."

"I failed to specify them, did I not? Your friend, if he is indeed from the same world as you, is not here to greet you because he is under arrest in the Precinct. The situation is much too complicated to speak of in depth here and I do not know it well. He conspired to murder a convicted criminal, a parasite, and in the process several crew members were injured."

Xander always had been a little gung-ho about the killing, but that was usually only when it concerned Angel, and it was never out of a place of bloodlust, but more out of a place of love and protection of his friends.

And maybe a little coz of the fuzzy feelings he'd had for Buffy all those years ago.

But...conspiring to murder a convicted criminal and...

What the heck?

"Is he allowed visitors?"

"Yes, he is." Daimon would not mention how he knew this. "Would you like for me to escort you there or would you prefer to remain here and speak with the command staff?"

"I'll stay here for now, get a hold of my bearings....but later...if you wouldn't mind...I'd like to see him. He's...family in more ways than anyone would ever understand."

Daimon nodded. He would have liked to say that he knew how that felt but the Son of Satan was, as ever, alone.

"I...thank you. And I'm sorry that I tried to, you know, take your head away from your body. It's a me-thing. I was actually...called Lady Hacks-Away once because of it."

"You are welcome. I, too, have great difficulty restraining myself." Explaining the full extent of why he had such trouble doing so would perhaps be unwise at this moment.

If Daimon were the type to roll his eyes, Buffy would have been on the receiving end of a pronounced eye roll.

Buffy just grinned brightly at Daimon in that I'm-an-upbeat-laid-back-California-girl way she had.
