Newbie Meet N' Greet

Meet n' Greet, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat! Unfortunately, the newbie meet and greet takes place the same time the command staff is congregating, so they might be a little late to the party.

But the crew is there to welcome the newcomers and explain their situation. At the end of the milling and spilling about, the command staff is going to start a general meeting to apprise everyone of their situation and discuss their next course of action:

"... nice axe," comments the young girl with her hands in two of the many pockets of the oversized denim jacket she wears over her plantsuit. Around her neck hangs a little silver bell on a chain.

"Thanks," Buffy says, smiling awkwardly at the girl. "It's, uh, called a scythe. I'm not sure why but...it's shiny." Also, brimming with energy and warmth. It's like Buffy's sharp, slicey security blanket, with added staking action.

"... but that's not a scythe at all," Roxie says, with an expression halfway between confused and academically indignant. "It's more like a lochaber axe with a--why is there a wooden thing on it?"

vampires were never really a large part of pop culture in her world.

"It's a stake? You know, to dust vamps with? Or to build a really little fence. And I didn't name it. The first Slayer did. Or maybe the Shadowmen. I'm not really sure." The girl reminded her of Wesley just a little bit.
