12 - 1700 hours - Crew Work. Check.
17 - 1800 hours - Visit Leels in the hoosegow. Check.
18-2000 hours - personal projects. In progress.
Over in the Engineering department, Allen is putting the finishing touches on a small, nondescript device. It's sleek, black, has a lense, and when he engages it, it floats, then zips over his shoulder and down Stacy's halls.
"Control, f, my wife," he murmurs as he saunters after it. He turns off as the device zips on its way and comes to a stop in the Media Lab, where he flops down to wait, either for updates, or tentacles.
In the meantime, he puts on Casablanca. For the fourth time this month.

"Mein gott, am I adjusting?" he grumbled to himself. "Surely not." The prospect of that horrified a small part of him.
He wandered in on Allen watching Casablanca and raised an optic ridge. "Is zhat vhat humans watch zhese days?" he asked.

Allen waves the robot over. The rest of the couch is free.
"Stacy's library is a little limited, as far as human cinema goes. It's the classics or nothing."
no subject
"It is interesting, at least," he remarks, raising an optic ridge.

It was also the plot of Barbarella!
no subject
Barbarella? What's that? He's never heard of it.
no subject
And he never will!
Okay, maybe he will. You know, from somebody else. I just couldn't not say it.

Though she did recognize the person she saw today. "Allen?" She said, approaching him.

He mentally matched up a name with the face. "Pirogoeth. I still owe you a jam session." He shrugs towards the screen. "Up for a little Bogart first?"

He leans back, tucking his hands behind his head. "We can finish it if you're interested, but frankly, I've seen this thing four times in thirty days and I'd much rather go make some music if you're up for it."
no subject
"I have not witnessed enough to be interested beyond the fact it is another moving picture. Music is fine."
no subject
"Sensoriums it is. What do you play again?"

The moment the noise-level in the Media Library goes from clunkity-clank to sappy, squishy and kissy, Cale frowned and cast an annoyed look at the person responsible for it.
"Do you really have to watch that again?" he asked.

If you're going to nag, he's going to nag right back!
"Only so many times a girl can count bricks."
no subject
"I told her I'd bust her out but she threatened to beat me up if I did..."

There's no animosity in his voice, more reinforcement of a simple fact - if Cale's going to be in Leela's life, he's going to have to put up with Allen being in it as well.
He laughs at the thought of Leela, sticking to her prison the way she sticks to her reason for being there. "You have to give her credit, girl might not always be able to do the crime, but she'll fuckin' do her time, if the reason's good enough."

He smiles again. He did miss her.

"Oh, Allen! I've been meaning to find you for a while. Is this...oh, Casablanca? That's an intriguing film choice." He's not teasing about it, just inquisitive.
Turning his attention back to Adam, Billy tries to gauge the other teen's reaction to the awkward situation. A more socially well-versed friend might have launched straight into introductions, but that part of Billy's mind still requires a few moments to catch up. Adam, Allen, he apologizes. He'll be with you in a moment.
no subject
Or maybe even both.
Adam blushed a little, as they stopped and addressed yet another man he didn't know. But then there was the mention of Casablanca. "...I haven't seen that movie in ages," He said.
no subject
He already knows, but canon-puncturing - it's rude.

Right-o, on to introduction time! From what Billy can remember from the etiquette manual he'd devoured as a child, it was proper to include an interesting fact about each person during introductions. "Allen, this is my classmate and good friend Adam Park. We originate from the same location. He's an excellent martial arts instructor."
Flashing what he hoped was an encouraging smile, Billy turned to his old friend. "Adam, this is my Engineering partner and the principal of the education program, Allen Gentry. In addition to his engineering-related skills, he's also a musician and instructor of the Music class."
Nope, there's no clumsily-dropped hints to be found here!

And then, he heard Billy list what what Allen does. He remembered, a bit vaguely, about someone doing an educational thing around here. He didn't know it was from Allen though! "What music do you play?"
...that wasn't what he had wanted to ask originally.
no subject
As for the movie - he moves over on the couch so Billy can join him if he wants. "You could say I'm considering multiple interpretations, but also Stacy's movie library is kind of limited."
His inner child glees. Now he's friends with one of the Black Rangers too. There are not numbers or words for this kind of awesome.
