Rest and Relaxation.... and a whole lot of aggrivation [Closed]

Leon's day had been long, though ultimately productive. He managed to scratch a number of things off his list, and only two items of consequence remained. Those being Sherry's surgery, and spelunking through W&P, trying to relocate the Main Armory.

He also needed to take a break.

But when he got back to the Precinct, he didn't head straight to his room and crash, which is probably what he should've done. Instead he went to Claire's room and knocked on her door. He needed to talk to her, and he figured he could hide out with her for a little while. He knew she'd run interference for him if he asked her to... plus about two-thirds of the ship thought they screwing each other anyway dear god did he wish, so if they were locked in a room together, odds are people would be reluctant to bother them.

"Hey, Claire, open up. It's me."

Claire let herself get lost in the moment, up until a constricting in her chest reminded her that she was supposed to breathe. Reluctantly she broke the kiss, and inhaled, keeping her hands where they were.

"Took you long enough," she murmured, opening her eyes and smirking a little at him.

He smirked back her when she made her remark.

"Didn't realize I kept you waitin' so long."

Her smirk softened a little and she considered him for a moment, finally letting go of his face.

"It's okay. I didn't realize until just now, either." In retrospect it was extremely obvious, but she'd always been incredibly good at ignoring her own feelings, and as a result being fairly oblivious to others' as well.

"Seven years..." he muttered, more to himself than to her. Seven years and change they'd both been sitting on this.

He smiled to himself. They probably had looked so silly.

Claire chuckled under her breath, shifting around a little best she could so she was a little closer (not that there was much space between them in the first place) and laid her head down on the pillow.

"We're a little slow." Considering people who barely knew them were under the impression they'd been together, they'd definitely looked silly.

"But we got here."

What little space there was between them was closed as he kissed her again. But considering he was already a little lightheaded, both from kissing her and from sheer exhaustion after the past several days, and she was still recovering, he didn't expect things to progress much further. But he was content with this right now.

She let him kiss her again, more than happy for it, really. And while it wasn't altogether weird since they'd always been close, there was the added rush of the knowledge that something new was beginning, which made it hard for her not to smile.

After a moment, she pulled away from him again, and lifted her head so she could pull the elastic out of her hair and loop it around her wrist. She reached out to pat his cheek while she settled in close again.

"Didn't you come in here for sleeping purposes? Not that I'm complaining, but I think it'd be hypocritical of me to keep you up."

He made a thoughtful 'hmmm' sound. He'd probably be asleep already had it not been for this recent development.

"I kind of don't want to. I might wake up later and find out I dreamed this."

She smirked at that, leaning in to kiss him lightly again, before sliding a hand down his arm and pinching his bicep.

"You're not dreaming."

"Good." He couldn't help but smile back at her, and finally closed his eyes to rest for a while.
