I've got you under my skin [openish to relevant med bay personnel/parents]

Luis was a biologist and not a medical doctor, but without a general science laboratory he'd taken to spending most of his time hanging out in the medbay. He didn't do anything stupid like take patients or mess around with equipment that was currently hooked up to patients-- just minded his own business in the back as something of a very enthusiastic lab assistant, studying and taking notes of whatever he could apply himself to.

There was also much less Brainy here than the other lab.

Even though he wasn't a medical doctor, Luis was one of the world's foremost experts on parasitic organisms and strange things that grew inside of human bodies that didn't belong there. And this particular case was a personal favor for a friend-- the case of a 12-year-old girl with something reportedly living in her torso.

"Mucho gusto, Sherry. I'm Dr. Sera," he told her, offering a handshake. "Have a seat up on the table and let's see what we can find, okay?"

"More complicated." He was still turning over how to explain this in his head. "Far more complicated...

"The terrorist group-- a religious cult, actually-- that discovered the parasite and did research to exploit it was wholly independent of Umbrella and all its former associates. Wesker somehow got wind of the research going on, and convinced a former government agent to get himself recruited by the group, and said former agent was the one who did the kidnapping. Wesker had hoped his agent could get far enough in to get his hands on all of the research regarding las plagas.

"Unfortunately, the terrorist leader sniffed out their little game. Wesker went to his plan B, sending in another agent to work Luis, who finally realized how far deep he had stepped in it and wanted out. And during that time, I showed up looking for the person who was kidnapped.

"...and a whole lot of bodies hit the floor after that."

She frowned at the ceiling, shifting and covering her eyes with one hand for a moment.

"My head hurts, now." She tilted her head enough so she could look over at Leon between her fingers, the frown still on her face. "How the hell do you manage to get yourself in the middle of this stuff?" His track record was just as bad as hers was.

You think its bad hearing about it? Try living it, Claire. It'll be a lot more than just your head that hurts.

"Just lucky, I guess."

It's really for the best that she doesn't do much of the thrilling heroics beyond what she usually does. The laser hallway probably would've been more challenging for someone who isn't at one with the Matrix.

"Some kinda luck," Claire replied, shaking her head. "I'm getting you a rabbit's foot or something for your next birthday."
