If A Monkey Can Do It... [open]
While it's always great to meet new people, there is someone very, very specific that Jamie has an interest in finding. Having failed to find this particular person through exploration (and winding up nearly getting shot in the process), he's retreated to the obs deck to try a different approach.
After some tentative prodding of one of the fleshy meat-chairs, he has gingerly settled into it and is using his Omnicom for the first time. He's not the fastest of typists by any stretch of the imagination, and there's a great deal of backspacing and grumbling going on as he composes the message. However, he wants the practice, so typing it is instead of using the voice recognition software. With any luck, his plan will work. It's not like it's really /that/ complex of a plan: type in a message and figure out how to send it. Trust in the fact the person he's trying to reach is nosy by nature and hope for the best.
He's also talking to himself, very quietly. "C'mon, Doctor. I know ye like poking around these type of things." A little extra prompting can't hurt, even if the only ones who can hear it at the moment are Jamie and the chair.

By the time he got there he was only jogging, but still just slightly out of breath. Not too bad, considering. It had taken him a while, but he got there in the end.
And there sat the Scot.
"Jamie!" he exclaimed happily, arms spreading wide for a hug before he had to put his hands on his knees to steady his breathing. "Hold on, one moment."
With a great, heaving breath he stood straighter again, opened his arms again. "Jamie!" he tried again, before adding "Definitely better the second time."

It happens to be the latter when the Doctor comes jogging in, and at the sound of his name Jamie's head whips around. There's a large smile on his face that fades quickly as he sees that it's someone unfamiliar. Still...the person obviously recognizes him, and on a ship full of strangers, that's no small feat.
"Doctor?" He's not certain that it is him - not at all. But he needs to know.

"Nah, it's me," he explains, moving closer than all the way across the room. "Little bit of a new look, but it's refreshing, yeah?"

"Doctor!" Jamie practically leaps out of his chair and closes the gap between the two. There was a hug being offered earlier, and Jamie fully intends on delivering. He attempts to sweep the Doctor up in a enthusiastic bearhug, the heck with what anyone thinks.

It's a non-sequitor, but a safe one until the Doctor figures out when Jamie's from, until he adjusts to seeing Jamie again, amazing!, and it has the added benefit of being true. He'd definitely shrunk from the last version, but there were definitely a couple of inches to be had over Two.

Despite it's original attempt at being a non sequitur, Jamie chooses to treat the height question seriously, so he breaks the hug and takes a moment to look the Doctor over - even going so far as to measure the both of them with his hand while trying to decide.
"I've not shrunk, I don't think. So I'd say you've grown." That, of course, brings up a whole lot of other questions, all of which are threatening to spill out all at once.
The one that makes it is, "But...how? Ye look so.../different/."
