After coming back from interrogation, Katara was more than subdued, and hardly said a word. The fact that she'd not only made the wrong decision and had almost committed a crime of passion was bad enough, but she'd gotten closer to losing who she was again. Aang hadn't been here to make her see how wrong it was, and knowing the only thing that had stopped her was her need to help people was of little comfort. The worse part was she wasn't even sure she'd been able to kill the Yeerk if they had caught up to it: what would she do if Aang needed her? What if it got bad enough that she hesitated and this time she lost him for good?

Exactly how long could she go without having to make that decision?

"I wish I knew," she said softly to herself, hands tucked behind her head, staring at the ceiling. "I really wish I could talk to him about this."

So there were powers that were fairly similar. If there was one thing Katara knew enough about, it was having the power of elements. She definitely wanted to learn more about Will's friends and their powers.

But she did nod at the mom comment, though she had the forcibly NOT think about her mother at the moment. "I'm sure my mom wouldn't like it that much if she were around. I think we should train, just in case we have to deal with something dangerous. I know I messed up, but I'm not stupid enough to stay obsessing about what I could have done or not done. I think the storm is far from over."

She was silent a moment. "What's an 'Orube?'"

"My trainer."

Will shrugs, sighs, rolls her eyes. It's not that she dislikes Orube, Orube's just . . . well, she works them hard.

"She's sort of catlike, so if you see anyone like that, let me know."

"Oh. I had one of those: he should be in my tribe by now, hopefully with my grandmother. He wasn't exactly the easiest trainer either: he was really sexist and wouldn't teach me because I was a woman."

Katara had a ghost of a grin on her face, remembering when she slapped the back of his head with the water whip.

"Catlike?" Katara thought a moment. "The only woman I've seen like that is Meluly. She's...well, different, but pretty awesome."
