Now, this was just terrific. Kurt had just been awakened in a strange place, had barely gotten dressed, and was still trying to pick odd bits of dried gunk off any bit of visible skin. Luckily, the suit he'd been fashioned with was customized, and it was actually absurdly comfortable, if one could ignore that weird, living pulse.
He was going to try very, very much to forget about it. There were other things to occupy his mind.
First of all, his things, whatever Stacy had deemed appropriate to take with him. Hopefully, his 'watch' was in there. not that he needed to know what time it was, but because it would hide his more startling features. The idea of strangers getting a glimpse of him like this was enough to make his mouth dry. Reactions from people he didn't know were usually pretty unfavorable.
Cautiously, he had stepped out of the lift, looking for the locker room. Everything looked somewhat the same, the halls all having that strange, living texture. Despite his nerves, he didn't dare try to teleport in here yet, lest he get stuck in some other hell-dimension. He was keeping himself as low to the ground as possible, not a problem given his unusual build, and trying to just not draw anybody's attention. Yet.

All he really, really wanted to do was get at his locker, and hope that nobody threw a fit about his presence. There was no hiding from a mindreader, though.
The person appeared a little after the voice. "'Allo." Nope. no recognition, there. "At least you have a body to go along with the voice." Sue him. Stacy had him on edge. Besides, he was trying to be funny. Failing, sure, but the attempt had to be made.
Well, he was possibly familiar. Just far too young.

Jono snorted and nodded, glancing up toward the 'sky'. Or, rather, the roof. Yeah. Stacy's one fer shockin' the hell outta you when you wake up. Not that there weren't enough things to be shocked about, honestly. Gave me a bloomin' 'eadache when I woke up.
At least Stacy hadn't asked HIM if he wanted a sedative. He probably would not have been nice about the reply.

"There is something rude about waking up in a puddle of sludge." While naked, at that. Kurt turned his head slightly, then, curious. "Are you a telepath, then? That must be.. unpleasant." A pause, then. "Though I can figure how it would give anyone a headache. I think everything below my skull has currently gone numb." That was almost cheerfully said.

He nodded at the question of his powers. Yeah. Telepathy's kin'a secondary to the rest of it, but it's part of it. The rest of it wasn't exactly a cake walk. After a moment, he offered his hand. Jono Starsmore. Near as I can figure, yer from somewhere in the past fer me.
It wasn't exactly true, but he didn't know that yet.

He strangled his curiosity and left whatever the primary mutation was alone. Not everybody was lucky, and something about the facial cover and the lack of out-loud speech tickled at the imagination. Nope. Let's not be nosy.
Kurt had taken the offered hand, had shaken it carefully in his three-fingered grip. "You did seem to know me from somewhere, but I did not recall you." Whatever that was about. The past? His eyebrows pulled together, thoughtfully. "Now that is very confusing."

"That is comforting, in a way. I do have a future.. though I suppose you should probably not tell me much more than that." You could change the past, and through it, the future. He didn't want to go breaking anything.
"Though I guess we could always shift the blame for any changes in time, elsewhere." Since it wasn't his idea to be up here in the first place.

Reckon the easiest place t' put blame is the Phoenix. Tends t' do a lot with temporal fuckery. Fuckery was totally a real word. Though this sorta stuff apparently happens disturbin'ly of'en fer the X-Men.

"Now I want to ask you all sorts of questions that I do not need to know the answers to." He was going to attempt to be a good boy about all this. All things in due time.

He shrugged, tilting his head. Don' worry. I won' tell you much. 'Sides, you might not 'sactly be the Kurt Wagner I know of. Timelines an' all.
no subject
Timelines, multiple Kurts, and he smiled, then, cheerfully. "Of course. That is exactly what the universe needs. More than one me." That was a terribly scary thought, really.
no subject
God, he didn't want to think about that. He closed his eyes. Let's...not even go there, actually. An' the universe could do worse 'an more 'an one of you.

The idea of multiples actually seemed to upset the poor guy, though Kurt was merely trying to be distracting. "Hm. Well, outside of creating my own performance troop, I suppose one is enough." A shrug, then. He was willing to let that one go.

Disney...cartoon? Yeah, he was lost. It wasn't that unusual, maybe, but Jono totally didn't get the reference.
He snorted a bit, the corners of his eyes turning upwards. The flyin' Wagners. I could see it. So long as I don' run int' another me. Don' think the world could handle it.

At least he'd made the guy laugh, sort of. There was definitely a smile on what was visible on that face, and Kurt couldn't help but grin all over again. "There would be no group that could compare." Of course not. He was uniquely suited to the task.
"We will leave that to Jamie, then. Ah, Multiple."

He nodded. Madrox is good at that sorta thing, I hear. Ain't really met him but in passin'.

"Nice kid." Almost pityingly; everyone seemed to pick on him. Then again, he was like fourteen in Kurt's world, and timid to boot.

Don't ask about Santa. Jubilee insisted that she met him once.
'E's an adult where I'm from, o' course. Like Kurt was, after all. Seems a nice enough bloke.
