open [statuary]
Statues....and more statues.....this was the building that Vash had finally happened upon after wandering for a bit. He figured that if he really wanted to know more about this place, he'd better start with whatever information on its history this place was willing to offer.
Maybe the shock just hadn't worn off, but the blond gun man was taking it all in stride. There was an up-side to this, after all; since he'd gotten here he had not heard the title 'Vash the Stampede' pass through anyone's lips. No one seemed to recognize him as the criminal worth sixty-billion double dollars. It was as though he was a regular human being, a nonentity.
And putting it bluntly, that suited him just fine. To be unknown was a relief after so many years of infamy. He almost couldn't believe it. But some of his paranoia that he might be found out was ebbing - besides, in this new reality, there were bigger things than Vash the Stampede to be concerned about. And that was a nice change as well.
The statues only confused him more, however. And when he he came to a statue of some weird looking centaur creature he goggled. Then he saw the mention about 'Yeerks'. He tried to remember why that rang a bell....oh yeah. Rei.
"Maybe there's a recording or hologram here that would tell me more." he murmured, flipping the switch at the base. He sighed; nothing had happened. He moved to the next row.

She smiled at him. "I'm sorry if I'm interrupting anything."

There was a statue of Muad'dib there, of course. One of Leto the Tyrant. Even the bust of Sister Chenoeh that she remembered from Chapterhouse.
And there was someone else too...A cheerful looking man with hair that defied gravity.
"No matter what you do to them, they don't tell you anything else."

"Oh, I'm just looking around." he said to the first one that had spoken. "You aren't interrupting?"
This place is full of cute girls...I think I might not want to escape.
"Do you need something? Perhaps a date with a mysterious , handsome gun man."

Maybe there was a chance he could fix it.

"I haven't either." he admitted. There weren't really museums back on Gunsmoke. Lots of Plants, lots of conflict, but not a whole lot of culture.
"Still," he mused,"the fact that they're here kind of makes you think they must be for something. Though if I had to take a wild guess, this place is a mixture of different histories."

He couldn't decide whether the creature looked deadly or just mythical - a mixture of both really. He wondered if he would encounter one of those here.

It was true. He'd pretty much been on the assumption that it was just humans and plants like himself that were sentient. And speaking of which...
"Which of these worlds did you come from?"

Leto Atreides the Second, God-Emperor of Arrakis, AKA Dune, the desert planet, home of the prescience inducing drug known as Spice. Only human to have ever merged with the Sandworm, Shai-Halud. Saved his universe from the trap of prescience.
"This one. Did you find any from your homeworld?"

He wondered for that matter how long he would be here. What would happen if he didn't go back? He frowned; what would Knives do then?

She studied his features subtly. He had to come from a desert. He was too water-lean for any other environment. Like her.

"You must keep a pretty meticulous calendar." he joked. His stomach growled. In his search for information he had kind of neglected to eat. Man, could he go for some of Lena's grandma's home made donuts.
Not that that would ever be possible again, but, wishing didn't hurt.

In reply to the question about the food he grimaced. "I guess I miss having a home cooked meal. I haven't figured out where everything is yet in this city."
