McCoy and His Stupid Paperclip [Open]

Julian was in one of the sensoriums, which is where he had been spending a lot of time the last few days. Learning to fly a Federation starship wasn't easy, which was a shock to Julian since at first it seemed like the ship was smart enough to fly itself. But learning how to pilot one ended up being a crash course in astrophysics, stellar cartography, astrogation, warp physics, subspace sailing, and piloting all rolled into one. You practically had to have a Ph. D. in gravitational physics just to park the ship into a stable orbit.

Things that took Starfleet cadets months, if not years to learn, he had to cram in only a few days. It was time consuming (which meant far less Kara time than he would have liked) and he felt like his brain was going to melt out of his ears.

Which is why, for now anyway, he was taking a break. He had again recreated the SoCal beach where he grew up by, where the surf hit the sand, and the jagged rocks that were only a few feet down the shoreline. But rather than play basketball like he did last time, he was working with his telekinesis. Now that the collar was off, he was free to use his powers as he saw fit.

--And speaking of that collar, he was still holding on to it, oddly enough. Though rather than wear it around his neck, it hung from the side of his hip by a piece of his plantsuit; like he was displaying it as some kind of badge of honor--

But right now, he felt a little bit of practice time would do him good. Judging by the occasional loud explosion that came from in the sensoriums, followed by the rather emphatic cursing of one pissed off teenager, he could use the practice.

"What?!" Her eyes widen again, she can't help it. The thought of the X-Men not...It was just unreal to her.

She shakes her head, and for a moment just studies Julian. She can tell he's not wanting to talk about it anymore. So she bites her tongue....For the time being.

"Oh... Well, who's all part of the team?" Maybe that was a bit of a safer topic with him, though why she's caring for his feelings is beyond her at the moment, but she supposes it's just part of her nature.

She doesn't even know what to say! What Julian's just said doesn't sound anything like the Scott she knows! Her Scott would never do something like disbanding the X-Men and then turn around and change his mind. His Scott must have lost his mind!

"Where's the Professor?" Jean finally asks.

WALKING?!?! The Professor was walking in Julian's world?!

She blinked and shook her head, finding all he was saying and all that he'd said very very hard to take in. "Genosha? Where's that?" She couldn't remember ever hearing the Professor speaking of a Genosha.

"And Scott? He's wi-" she cut herself off, deciding she doesn't want to know who the other Scott was with. It wasn't important. "He's running what's left of the X-Men? Is he... You said he disbanded it... Is he OK?"

Wow, is just about all that is going through Jean's mind right now. And then of course she's thinking how glad she isn't the same Jean from his world. Not that she hadn't thought that before... But now she was thinking that a lot more.

"So is that the reason you're... difficult?" She can't help but ask that one. She's of course also wanting to kick herself because now... Now she's starting to feel sorry for the kid.

And there went sympathy flying straight out the window.

"Alright. Is that the reason you act like a jackass?"

"It's the wrong way to try and keep it," Jean informs him with a blank expression.

No, she's not really impressed by his jackass skills.

"For you?" She acts like she's thinking for a minute and then shakes her head. "Nope, there's no right way for you. I have a feeling all your ways would be classified as either annoying or highly annoying."

[identity profile] scarlett-flames.livejournal.com 2009-09-03 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
She eyes him suspiciously. "What sort of classes are you thinking you'll be getting from me?"

[identity profile] scarlett-flames.livejournal.com 2009-09-03 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
She doesn't even think about it, she just takes a step closer to him and smacks him upside the back of his head. "Not even in your wildest fantasy little boy."

Getting back on track, she stepped back. "Well, I don't know. You'd have to behave yourself... IF I decide to help you."

[identity profile] scarlett-flames.livejournal.com 2009-09-03 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
"I didn't say I was turning you down. But are you going to behave yourself?" She asks, her eyes narrowing a bit.

[identity profile] scarlett-flames.livejournal.com 2009-09-03 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Then I agree to help you out," Jean said with a nod, though of course she wasn't completely convinced that he'd stick to the agreement.

Really though...See how easy that was?
