[Wait for me, I am not very far behind]
He wandered the hall of the city, fingers occasionally trailing along the walls. The emotions here left very distinct impressions in the Force, and Luke traced each one, following them along for as long as he could. Some said the city was dangerous (he had the distinct feeling that Ben Kenobi would have classified this as a 'wretched hive of scum and villainy' as well) but Luke's danger-sense didn't prickle at all.
Perhaps it was the hilt of his lightsaber, dangling off his hip, that kept them at bay. It had the look of a weapon about it, so that even those who weren't familiar with the Jedi's weapon could probably tell he was armed. A good thing, because Luke's eyes were half-closed as he wandered.
Like a whiff of perfume, he thought for a moment that he caught the sense of someone familiar, someone from home--but just as fast, it was gone.
Luke sighed, and continued on his way.

THERE IS OFFICIALLY TOO MUCH AWESOME IN THIS THREAD
"Hello there. How are you settling in?"
NERDS WOULD CREAM THEMSELVES IF THEY KNEW
He tilted his head a bit, considering the man. He had an almost military air about the way he stood--straight-backed and square-shouldered--but something reminded him of Han's version of military leadership, which was to say, fly by the seat of your pants. Not fully, but there was enough there to recognize.
OH SO TRUE
"I think it took all of us a while to get used to that."
He offered a hand. This man seemed... at ease. At peace. A bit like Spock, in a way, "I'm Captain James T. Kirk, acting first officer. Pleased to meet you."
[passes out tissues and hand lotion]
That gave him pause. "Why are you first officer if you're a captain?"
Sorry about how long this took.
He chuckled and shook his head, "There are two captains on board - we have the same rank. I'm simply acting as first officer for the ease of the command structure."
Only if you can forgive me for how long this took!
