Outer Space SUCKS! [immediately after meeting Kara] (Open)
"I need a bar, a good old-fashioned bar, none of this sports enthusiast or micro-brewery or house music crap. Two pool tables, a dartboard, a jukebox, and I need good liquor." Owen mumbled as he shuffled his way into the sensorium, the scenery complying as he walked behind the bar and looked over the selection.
At least this damn place could get drinks right, even if it's timing to pull people from his world sucked hard.
"Outer space SUCKS." He put a glass down firmly on the bar as he poured himself some whiskey. After knocking back the first drink, he proclaimed it a bit louder, and a bit different. "OUTER SPACE TOTALLY BLOWS!"

She'd heard that shout from way out in the hall connecting Sensorium pods, and couldn't help but investigate.

"Stinking stupid ship breaking up my bro-hood and taking my girl from before she met me..." He grumbles indignantly.

As she gets a rough idea of what Owen means by the 'my girl' part of the comment, she makes an 'eugh' face. "Who's your girl?" she asks lightly, leaning over the bar to peer behind it. (This does nice things to her legs, even bare only from just above the knees.)

"Supergirl." He puts a bottle of cuervo on the bar for easy access, then walks out from behind it.
Okay, now he can appreciate it, at least in passing. (He's upset, not dead, after all.) He settles himself down on a stool next to her.

She fishes herself a glass, pouring a shot from the bottle. "That's quite the description." She didn't actually realize that as a proper (nick)name.
no subject
"Lemme guess, not from the Earth with the Titans and the Justice League? Cuz when I say 'Supergirl', I actually mean it. That's what she goes by. Big damn hero and all."
no subject
She's got an interesting tinge of an accent. A little Indian-sounding, almost.

"What's wrong with space?" he asked.
no subject
"I'll tell ya what's wrong with outer space! S'got no damn r'spect for established relationships! Big... st-stupid SHIP took my girlfriend from before she met me, now she's met someone HERE!"
no subject
"She probably didn't think she'd ever see you again," he said. "I'm sorry, though."
no subject
"Here's where I met her, and then there's where I was before I woke up in the meatpod. Then, here's where SHE was before the meatpod." He points to appropriate measures along an imagined timeline.
He then stares intently at his finger, before sucking the bit of spilled tequila off it.

"Maybe it'll help just for a little while?" He looks at Luke poutingly.
"It's BRUTAL. We're talking zapped with force-lightning by Palpatine or Dooku brutal."

"Sure there's a lack for things to do, and some of my friends are missing. Not to mention my brother. But look around, this place can be anything you want. Or anyone." He smiled a bit. "Even if that last part's a bit creepy, and I don't recommend doing it when people can just walk in."
no subject
"Yeah... really creepy. Might want to work on your phrasing there kiddo." He roots around under the bar and pulls out a few cans of various sodas. "Something 'soft' for you?"
no subject
"So why the bar scene? If you don't mind me asking."

"Here's hoping you can tell which ones are worth it." He takes a long drink.

So when she stepped through the door she was pleased to see something that looked familiar in certain aspects. It was definitely a bar, and the guy there was definitely someone she'd seen talking with Sokka before. His name was...Owen, wasn't it?
"Ok...what does that mean, Outer Space sucks?" Katara asked, eyeing the drink in his hand. "And if you tell me I'm not allowed here because I'm a kid and underage, I'm just going to roll my eyes and still expect an answer, ok?"
no subject
"It means this ship doesn't have the faintest clue about when it should pull people from that know each other." He grumbles, then looks at the newcomer. "Wouldn't dream of tellin' you where you can and can't go, sweetness. You're Sokka's sister, right?"
no subject
Katara exhaled. The 'sweetness' comment might have bothered her at an earlier point in time, but seeing as how a certain earthbender was known for using something like that phrase, Katara grinned. "Yeah, I am. I'm assuming you guys must have connected if you know that. Sokka's still freaking out a little."
no subject
He lines up a shot, then breaks, sinking five in one go. "My girlfriend is pulled from before she even met me, and now she's met someone else while she's been here." He seems sad, but it's balancing with frustration now.
no subject
"Wow...really? That is horrible. No wonder you're drinking. I don't know how much you like this girl, but it still must hurt to have someone you care about not know you, let alone be with somebody else. If that happened to me..."
Katara trailed off. The thought really bothered her, and she had nothing but sympathy for him now. All the time you invest in a person you care about dashed out the window. The thought really bothered her.
"I can sympathize," Katara said. "More than anything, there's a person I want to see here who's special to me. If he cared about someone else...
"What's her name?"
no subject
"Yeah... was drinking a lot harder a little while ago. Thankfully someone awesome talked me down a bit."
He looked up when she asked the name. "If I say Supergirl, are you going to know that's what I actually mean, rather than a nickname?"
