(no subject)

Sheeana is propped in the center of a web of information like a spider. Her legs are folded under her on a squishy little cushion that resembles a spleen or some kind of overgrown tofu dish. Around her are books. Anatomy and natural history books, mostly. Time traveler's notes written in yellowing paper from the 1800s. Papers from scientific journals. Holocubes.

The most prominent is an anatomical chart depicting a Velociraptor from the side, showing all the various muscles, the sinuous curve of the neckbones, the birdlike powerful thigh muscles. It's propped before her on a stand that's green and thin as a thistle, held open by thornlike hooks. Of course it's labeled Dinonychus but any of the ship's dinosaurs would recognize the creature there represented.

Her eyes are glassy as she drinks in the information and her body perfectly still. Every once in a while her pupil will flick over to a part of the chart and she will move an obscure muscle that shouldn't normally be movable by itself...A single one in her face, a twitch of the ears, one toe moving independently of all the others.

"What are you doing?" Roxie finally asks, as it becomes obvious that Sheeana's not going to just volunteer any information.

"You're a dinosaur fan?" Roxie asks, shuffling a little further forward and over to peek at some of the more esoteric things laid out. The question is rhetorical, mostly--she just doesn't feel like coming out with the real inquiry.

"You have a fan club?" Roxie asks innocently. A bit of a 'buh?' expression leaks through her smooth facade as her eyes follow the movements of Sheeana's face and hands, though.

"Bene Gesserit?"

Roxie adjusts her glasses a little. She's clearly never read Dune.

It might not even exist in her universe. Poor girl.

Roxie's attention slides over to all the laid-out texts again for a few long seconds. "What does your order do?"

"It's interesting." Roxie is intensely curious, but she's not going to give it away that easily. "It's all... training?"
