Due in part to his cooperation, Daimon was released from the brig after several days. The experience had certainly given him further incentive to control his darksoul he hoped.

There were several people he wished to talk to but he was tired in his soul if not his body.

He wandered the city. He wanted to return to the Vatican but he was afraid of what he would see. He was even more afraid of what he might do.

If Leon Kennedy had not stopped him, what would he have done to Sawyer?

"I'm a professional. Besides, I don't put enough power into anything to do something that," she says, as if it were a matter of making sure that the input joules were within acceptable limits. She adjusts her glasses a little.

"A professional of what?"

"A professional of practical occultism and cho hunting," she says lightly.

After a moment's thought: "Isn't attacking someone who hasn't lifted a finger at you losing control of magic that could potentially destroy the ship?"

"That was not an attack. That was a warning." Daimon lowered his trident. "What are cho?"

"That a fucking hell of a warning," Roxie says, voice still relatively calm. "What if I'd turned the wrong way and you hit me? If you'd used a pistol or something I wouldn't even have given you the benefit of the doubt." She's getting a little louder now, though. And she's not going to answer Daimon's questions before she gets him to explain himself.

"That is soulfire. It would not have harmed you. Physically."

"If you have to use a qualifier the sentence doesn't fucking count, you idiot," she counters.

Dirty mouth for a young girl.

He's heard worse. "It would not have done any lasting damage."

"Neither would me punching you in the face, but you don't see me almost doing that," Roxie says.

"No, I see you deliberately antagonizing me. I would much prefer a punch to the face than to have you avoid and ignore my questions."

"I don't see why I should have to answer the questions of someone who's physically threatening me. Piss off." Her face tenses, almost twitching.

She turns and starts to walk away.

Daimon follows once again. "I am not threatening you!" He yelled. "You would know if the Son of Satan were threatening you!" Daimon caught up to the girl and placed a hand on her shoulder.

Roxie turns and the hand that brass ring is on rockets in towards Daimon's gut.

She's quite a bit stronger than she looks.

Daimon, on the other hand, was quite a bit weaker than one might expect of the Son of Satan.

Daimon exhaled sharply and had to take a step backwards to steady himself.

That really hurt.

"SHE DEVIL!" He cried, pressing one hand to his abdomen.

Roxie steps forward, in a good approximation of a boxer's stance, and her other fist proceeds to enter the immediate vicinity of Daimon's face at a high velocity.

Kirk did his best to help patrol the city when he could. It was decent exercise and it helped him think. Which is why he he's there to see Roxie take her swing at Daimon. He hurries towards the pair, a frown creasing his face, "What's going on here?"

Daimon reeled back. A trickle of blood flowed from Daimon's nose and he raised a hand to try and stop it but groaned in pain at the touch.

"'Adean Kimes!" Daimon butchered his catch phrase.

"I was reminding Mr. Hellstrom here why it's a bad idea to shoot at people," Roxie says lightly, stepping back. "It seemed like a useful thing for him to find out."

She smiles a little at Kirk in a rather innocent-little-girl way.

Kirk settles his hands on his hips and frowns. He doesn't hold with assault, but self-defense is something else entirely (although he has to admit, the girl has a mean right hook). He glances at Daimon, "Is this true?"

Daimon's words came out garbled, not only from the broken nose but from rage, but it was mostly intelligible.

"I DID NOT SHOOT YOU, TRAITOROUS WITCH!" His trident sparked with soulfire. "You ignored my attempts to determine if you were practicing dangerous magics." He looked to Kirk. "I had no other recourse than to demonstrate my powers by creating a blaze of soulfire, which is physically harmless unless I so will it. And still she refuses to answer my questions! Young she may be but that is but a guise. She has knowledge no child should possess!"

Roxie shuffles to the side a little, in a path around more behind Kirk. "He seems kind of crazy, too," she comments to him. Her chill facade is cracking, nervousness showing through.

(Fake nervousness, but she's good at acting innocent to authority.)

Kirk looks evenly between the two for a moment, trying to get a handle on the situation. Then he turns on Daimon, "Now you listen to me, mister. I don't care what kind of 'magic' she might've been working. She's a child and a member of this crew and I won't hold with anyone trying to intimidate fellow crew-members into doing what they want. Do I make myself perfectly clear?"

Another pause and then he continues, "We're all from different worlds, we're all from different places - and you have to understand that. Her skills could be perfectly normal where she comes from. She certainly doesn't need you trying to harass her - although by the looks of it, she can handle herself quite ably."

"You would BLINDLY trust this child? I DEMAND that you, at least, ask her what magic she is doing and why! Do you not know the dangers she could be placing her soul- and ours- in? Do you?!"

"I was collecting rocks," Roxie interjects, looking between Kirk and Daimon. "Can I punch him again? He's like those creepy guys mom told me not to talk to." Her face twists a little. Ewww.

"Mister, my concern isn't about souls. It's about getting us - getting all of us - home in one piece. Whether or not she may have been performing magic, you have no right and no cause to try and intimidate anyone into answering any of your questions," He nods at Daimon, then turns to Roxie.

"And you. I don't know anything about 'magic' or even if you actually were doing it. But I trust you weren't doing anything that could possibly endanger the lives of your fellow crew? And no, you may not punch him again."
