"A whole week, and no one's mentioned it? Did you arrive on your own? I thought people always came in groups. That would be lonely if it were just you," she said, shaking her head. "I'm Presea, by the way," she added in afterthought. "Part of the Welcome Committee."

"I arrived with one other, but someone did mention to us that this wasn't normal procedure." He was less put off by the fact that something had apparently changed than by the fact that nobody seemed to have been informed of it, but...a minor setback, all things considered.
