Part 1 - Ring Around the Rosie
The briefing was, well, brief, given the complicated situation they were being thrust into. Stacy tried to give them as much as she could but apparently her intel on this universe was rather limited.
For this reason, they were dumped rather unceremoniously on a vast planet, with grassy green fields, the dropship that dropped them off retreating on autopilot and disappearing back into the transdimensional ether. It was a lovely planet at the very least, with vast deep blue skies, teeming with vegetation, but oddly, they all would likely find themselves dealing with the unnerving inkling feeling that they were somehow being watched. There were no sentients or even animals in site, however.
The only thing they could do right now was wait. They had been told that they would be found, that they would be offered rings, taken into these different Corps of people, and they they needed to make sure the war ended in a way that didn't devastate life in this universe.
That was something of a tall order.

"Your constructs are as powerful as you will them to be, and the only thing they're really limited by is a lack of will or imagination. There are some limitations in power based on will--destroying a planet, for instance, would be beyond the power of a ring because of the amount of willpower required--but almost anything you can imagine can be created as a construct and the rings can produce all different types of energy and effects, like the ability to heal us up faster than we can heal on our own."

And then John Stewart was creating heavy weaponry out of nothing but minty-green willpower and despite himself, Jamie had to admit that was pretty impressive. Healing powers would undoubtedly be handy, too. And he could definitely see the advantages in being able to fly, like all the Corps had been doing when they first showed up. Stewart was right - the rings did sound versatile.
"Do different constructs take more energy than others? And is it just our emotions that power the rings, or do they need some other energy source to keep them going?" They'd seemed to be moving around pretty well under their own power before they'd latched onto people, after all.

"The larger and more complicated a construct is, the more concentration it takes," John explained.
Kilowog cut in, "John here has some of the most complicated constructs in the Corps, but it's easy for him."
"I'm an architect," John explained. "Doesn't take much concentration for me to think up something complicated. As for power, we all recharge our rings from power batteries we keep, usually once a day, more if we've had to use them heavily. Those power batteries draw from the Central Power Battery on Oa, which draws power from the emotional spectrum itself. The rings are powerful but they do have limitations, and the people bearing them have limitations, too. How each Lantern deals with those is usually unique."
"What he means to say is everyone has their own style of ringslinging," Kilowog went on.
