Part 1 - Ring Around the Rosie
The briefing was, well, brief, given the complicated situation they were being thrust into. Stacy tried to give them as much as she could but apparently her intel on this universe was rather limited.
For this reason, they were dumped rather unceremoniously on a vast planet, with grassy green fields, the dropship that dropped them off retreating on autopilot and disappearing back into the transdimensional ether. It was a lovely planet at the very least, with vast deep blue skies, teeming with vegetation, but oddly, they all would likely find themselves dealing with the unnerving inkling feeling that they were somehow being watched. There were no sentients or even animals in site, however.
The only thing they could do right now was wait. They had been told that they would be found, that they would be offered rings, taken into these different Corps of people, and they they needed to make sure the war ended in a way that didn't devastate life in this universe.
That was something of a tall order.

Re: The Choosing of the Rings
She watched curiously and a little uncertain as a couple of the rings drifted towards her--one green and one violet, and a blue that hung back before going off somewhere else. Allenby rocked back and forth on her heels, glowering at the rings as though daring them to come closer. She was still angry at being pulled onto some mission again--well, this wasn't going to end with her being made a soldier and killing people. She was absolutely sick of that, like it was the only way to solve people's differences. No, she'd figure out some other way.
The green ring zoomed off, leaving just the violet one. Allenby held her hand out for it like the others were doing--as soon as it touched her glove, there was a flash of violet light and she was in a skintight outfit, not unlike her Trace suit. There was less leg, but at least the bow was still there. "All right, so what's this all about?"
Re: The Choosing of the Rings
The ring would fly away and reject her if she did not give consent.
Re: The Choosing of the Rings
On the other hand, fighting with love sounded like it would end a lot better than anything else. She looked around at the others, being chosen by rings of their own. Those ones were all 'welcome to the whatever Corps,' or in that curly-haired dope's case, 'you belong.' It was a decision that was already made for them, like they were things in a toolbox. But this ring was asking her first.
She held out her hand. "Personally--I know that love makes a hell of a lot more difference than just blasting holes in other people or whatever the other rings do. Just mind your own business when it comes to my heart and we'll be okay, got it?"

"What about... funny stuff?" she said. She nodded her head towards the others. "You guys ain't gonna tell me who I can and can't be friends with over this, are ya? 'Cause that wouldn't make sense if I'm gonna fight with love."

She was still suspicious; of course she was. But her friends were fighting too, and she wasn't going to be left out when she could make a difference and do something good here.

She would feel the power of love filling her up.

So. Have a hug, Carol.
She did pull a face about the red rings, though. "Yuck, that sounds messy. I was just kiddin' around about the red, though. And now we get to sort out these jokers, right?"
Sort them out lovingly, of course.

Or someone who didn't think about it too much.
"Messier than you'd think. Beware the cuddly little cat of theirs. Dex-Starr is the worst of the lot." Because he'd cute you, then he'd cut you.
"Yes, we do, Star Sapphire Allenby. To the best of our ability, and the most of our love."

Obviously that wasn't going to be simple, going by the fact that the Corps needed outside recruits, but it still didn't seem as daunting as it probably should have. Her suspicion of the universe, the mission, and the ring had been replaced with plain warmth--it hadn't been wrong to be suspicious. But now she loved this place, loved her crewmates, and wanted very much to help them.
"I'll help you guys knock their heads together," she said with a warm smile. "I mean. Affectionately. You know, get their attention so they'll hear what we have to say."
