Whatever the Kessek thought their plans for the day were, they were interrupted quite abruptly by the explosions and ranged fire. They'd had no idea that the crew had found the hidden entrance, and as formidable as the warriors were they weren't expecting an attack.

With considerable yelling, the Daligig and Ghyll scrambled to dive deeper into the restricted area--anywhere away--while the Kessek frantically rushed to meet the resistance, some of them tripping over terrified Ghyll. The confusion would give the invaders a significant leg up as Kessek scrambled to equip themselves, hustle the Daligig away, and organize themselves all at the same time.
