Sirius's investigation of the ship had been haphazard at first. Now that he was working with Moony on a map of Stacy, he planned to fix that. The Hangar was well explored as far as he knew, but he had yet to go there himself. At first glance it looked simple enough. Lots of vehicles of all kinds, most unrecognizable to him. Their unfamiliarity made up for the lack of secret passages of any kind.

It wasn't until he reached a motorcycle that a strange thought passed his mind. He hadn't expected anything of his to be here. After Azkaban he was grateful just to have his wand. The fact that Stacy had given him the Marauder's Map, his mirror, and enchanted knife had been mind blowing at first. Now he wondered if there was something else Stacy brought from his world.

He walked faster and scanned the Hangar. It was a long while before there it was. A Triumph Bonneville T120 that belonged to one Sirius Black.

"Oh, baby." He ran his hands over the handle and then down her body. His fingers found several dents but the damage was minimal. He could fix that.

He straddled the motorcycle and held his breath as he turned the keys that were still in the ignition. The engine revved. The bike sprung to life. Sirius laughed.

"That's my girl." He pressed a button and kicked off into the air.

Nearly an hour later anyone walking around the City would see a strange sight. A man on a motorcycle soaring over them. The motorcycle's engines masked his laughter. But he was still laughing when he set her down on a road and let the engine rest. He stroked the handlebars lovingly.

"We've both still got it."

Okay, Rainbow Dash couldn't take the noise any more. Irritated, she poked her head up from her formerly-comfortable position on a cloud, where up till now she'd been napping quite happily, to see what was making that racket --

--so Sirius is now a bit closer to running over a pony with said motorcycle than probably either of them would like.

One of the great things about flying in the air- you had more room to dodge. Sirius swerved to the side and at the same time he sent the motorcycle lower, dodging easily. He didn't even slow down, simply waved over his shoulder.

A moment later, though, the pegasus caught up and matched speed, wings beating easily as she looked over the machine. "Hey, I didn't know those things could fly!" she said, impressed despite herself.

Sirius slowed down so the roar of the engine wasn't quite so loud. "Most can't." He still had to shout. "This one is special. I enchanted her."

"I wish Twilight was here to see this," she said with an edge of sorrow -- but it vanished immediately as she grinned wickedly. "How FAST is it??"

"How fast are we going now or how fast can she go?" Sirius asked, matching the pony's grin.

"How about, can keeping up with this thing not feel like sleeping with my wings moving?" she sassed back.

Sirius was hoping she'd say that.

"You're on." The motorcycle roared and plunged forward as he put on the gas.

She let him pull ahead for a moment, before she lowered her head, stretched her forelegs out, and put on a burst of acceleration to match speeds again. Her tail left a long rainbow wake behind her as she shot through another cloud and out the other side, not bothering to dodge it.

Touché, ~~my little pony~~ Rainbow Dash. Touché.

Sirius was all ready pushing the motorcycle's speed. He really should have been more careful considering there wasn't a repair shop nearby or spare parts. But he wasn't thinking about that.

He accelerated. He wouldn't be able to maintain this speed for very long.

If she knew more about vehicles like that she might worry, but she didn't. In Rainbow's mind, he'd magicked the bike to fly, so now it could fly!

"That's more like it!" she called out, stretching her forelegs out and flattening her body so she was all the more aerodynamic. She shot ahead, turning a few neat rolls so the motorcycle had to fly through a rainbow corkscrew tunnel as she fell into place in front of it.

Sirius felt a flash of anger at being so easily outmatched but it was hard to stay mad at a colorful flying pegasus that emitted rainbows.

Just... as long as no one found out about this, especially Remus. Sirius would never hear the end of it.

"Alright, you win." Sirius slowed before he killed his motorcycle. He would never recover from the loss.

She turned a wide loop to come back around, stopping in front of him to hover in such plain defiance of what a winged creature ought to be able to do, it might serve as a certain amount of comfort. "That WAS pretty fast!" she said, completely sincerely. "Even on Equestria, we don't have machines OR magic that can put up a show like that!"

Sirius laughed. "In that case, I won't be a sore loser. Thank you."

The engine was still rumbling in a way that Sirius would have to check it later but for now there was no ~~other~~ sign that he would fall out of the sky.

"I have to admit, I didn't think you could go that fast."

"There's nothing I love more than going fast!" she said, with a bright laugh. "Except winning, but the two go together!"

"For racing, you mean. Not for everything." Except for dueling or committing murder and framing your friend for it. A shadow briefly passed over Sirius's face.

"...nnnnooo, I pretty much like going fast and winning for just about everything. Oh, that and being cool doing it, which ALSO goes hoof in hoof with going fast and winning!" she added. The memories clouding his mind were almost out of her ability to conceive.

Sirius was grateful his brief lapse escaped her notice. He laughed. "Well you're a- pegasus- after my own heart." A rainbow colored pegasus. "What's your name?"

Easy enough to slip things past her notice; she was evaluating her performance, and at the same time reveling in her victory. "The name's Rainbow Dash! And still the reining flight champion of the ship!"

"For now at least." Not that Sirius was going to take that record from her. "It's a fitting name. I'm Sirius Black."

"Finally, someone with a name that sounds even close to normal," Rainbow said, mostly to herself. After all, 'Serious Black' sounded a little like a pony name... "So you're a... I guess you're not called unicorns, because you don't have horns, so what DO you magic-using humans call yourselves?"

...Sirius was just going to go along with that and stubbornly insist on taking it as a compliment.

"No, definitely not a unicorn. I'm a wizard. If I were a girl I'd be a witch."

Good, because it was supposed to be a compliment!

"So how do you do magic if you don't have a horn, then?" Rainbow started flying around him, looking for significant anatomical features. "I met someone who could fly without wings, but she had machines inside her. Don't ask me how THAT worked."

One thing was clear. Sirius was going to wonder about how someone could have a machine inside of them for a while.

"I just do." It was unnerving having her look at him like that. "But we usually use wands to focus our powers. It doesn't work as well without them."

Don't worry, Sirius. Dash had put quite a lot of thought into that as well, and had yet to come up with an adequate answer.

"A wand, huh?" Rainbow thought about this, then laughed. "So instead of a horn on your head, you pretty much have one in your hand instead!"
