Green Is So Last Season [Open!]

Ever since Rarity popped, there was one thing on the ship which irked her most. The hideous colour of the plant suits. She disliked green a lot and she vowed to change the garment's colours. She had a handful of plant suits laid out on the table in front of her and she levitated one, eyeing the material and poking it with her hoof.

"I didn't know you could make clothes from this kind of material... Let's see what you're made of so I can change your colour."

It did appear to others that the unicorn was talking to an inanimate object.

((OOC: The mods have granted me permission to change the colour of the plantsuits for variety! Your characters can wear their favourite colours now, I guess? =D))

Rarity was levitating the plant suit up and around when she heard a customer. Like clockwork, the pony trotted up to the girl without realizing that the suit was floating magically behind her. "Welcome to Stormwind Clothiers! How may I help you?"

"I was told that there was a um... Pony here, who specialized in making clothes? Er, if they aren't here I can wait."

"There's only one pony who makes clothes on this ship and that's me. I'm Rarity." The white pony extended her hoof for a greeting while looking at the girl's plant suit.

"It just so happens that I'm attempting to change plant suit colours right now."

"Oh, I um, picked up some cloth on planet and was wondering if someone could make an actual real dress out of them but if you just work on the plant suits... I mean I guess that'd be sort of okay too."

She ponders for a minute then tilts her head.

"I was also wondering if you knew how to make a vacuum suit, for going outside of the ship, not for cleaning."

Rarity's eyes lit up at the mention of clothes making. "Did you say cloth? Of course I will make a dress for you dear! I'm just changing the colours of the plant suits to give the newcomers some variety to wear when they first pop on the ship."

The pony blinked with confusion at the mention of vacuum suits. "You want to go outside the ship? Isn't it dangerous?"

"Well, yes. Very dangerous. But there clothes that can protect you from the dangers and I was curious if anyone here knew how to make them, or how much they would cost in trade to get."

Maria nods and starts fumbling with her bag, pulling out several yards of well, dull white cloth.

"I got this on my first planetfall when I was more thinking of remaking my flight suit but they didn't have an orange I liked so I got white."

"You want orange cloth? I can easily change that for you!" Rarity's horn glowed and the white cloth in the girl's hands turned orange in a flash. If only the plantsuit's colour was that easy to change...

"I don't know how a flight suit looks like but if you could just sketch it on this data pad here..." Rarity summoned a holographic sketch pad with her magic and brought it in front of Maria.

"Oh, certainly."

Sadly, no real pilot would ever consider the frilly, poofy, orange and white dress that Maria considers her flight suit to ever be a flight suit. They don't consider things about dramatic dress flutter in the wind important over warmth, that being said, Maria does, so Rarity will get a drawing that is more froof than practical that would cause most pilots to facepalm.

"This is the one I wore at home."

"That is a beautiful and stunning flight suit! A good job at merging fashion and ambition together!" Rarity fawned over the design and nodded with approval.

"So you wish to have an exact model of that?"

"Well, if possible. I really just want to get out of this drab green thing. Its what a lot of the guards wore and I really just don't care for its look at all."

"I'll be glad to make one after I'm done with my current project." Rarity gestured to the plant suits for emphasis.

"Hmm... Do you know anything about plants? To be more precise, what gives the leaves its colour?"

"One of the chemicals in it I think? I'm not sure. I'm more of an engineer than a biologist. I know about robots if that'd help."

"Chemicals?" Rarity furrowed her brows at the word and began to think even harder. "So the chemicals in plants gives it the colour..."

Her horn glowed and she picked a random chemical in the leaf to change its colour. The suit slowly turned orange but it faded quickly. "I guess it's not this chemical." She murmured to herself and continued the process by targeting different portions of the leaf without any success.

"I really don't know. There weren't a lot of trees in the city I come from."

Rarity continued to randomly hit different parts of the leaf with her colour changing spell. With some luck, she managed to hit one particular spot in the leaf and the plant suit instantly turned orange and stayed that way.

"Ooo. I wonder what that was." She exclaimed as her magic actively searched for the location on the leaf.

"So it's that little stack of pigments! This is fascinating."

"So you found it then?"

Rarity nodded. "Yes! It's in each leaf. The pigment! I guess I should learn to look out for the source next time."

The unicorn was still beaming brightly and was almost sparkling.

"Well congratulations then. It seems now its just a matter of making them well, not green and boring."

"Mmm hmm. I'll work on your flight suit after this."

"I know you can't rush good tailoring, so I expected it would take a while."

She nods a bit and sets out the several yards of cloth she got.

Rarity inspect the cloth, it was of reasonably good quality and she nodded her head with approval. "I will contact you as soon as I'm done. As for payment, you've already did with helping me with the plant suit."
