The Bookworm Strikes Again (open)
Who: Barbara and Anyone
Where: The Media Library and possible roaming
Summary: Research, tea, discussion and all that jazz. Feel free to simply come and bug her.
Warnings: None
After watching the Daligig slaughter the previous crew twice, Barbara went in search of any kind of material on the Daligig, Stacey, pod-popping and the crews which had traveled on Stacey. She didn't expect to find much more than what GLaDOS had told her but it was worth a look. Especially with all this talk of rebellion and distrust.
So, in a corner of the Media Library Barbara sat with piles books, stacks of visual recordings and audio recordings, plus pot of tea which had been sitting empty for a while. She was lost in her own world, memorising what she could and trying to gain a better picture of the ship, the war and everything else which could be considered relevant.

"I don't expect you'd be able to. Not easily, at least. Not with a ship that bends time and space plus jumps across dimensions." The Doctor pointed out. To be fair, he suspected even the Time Lords would find it challenging and it was probably a good thing they hadn't ever, as far as he knew, encountered the Daligig or the Ohm before.
Still, he was pleased to see Barbara being, well, herself on this.

"Anyway, enough of my frustrations. What brings you to the media library?" she asked kindly with a matching smile.

“Just a bit of a snoop. You know you have to keep in practice with things like that, especially snoops.” The Doctor puts down the scroll. Barbara looks right at home in a pile of research materials, doing her best to adjust to being on a living ship. She’s doing loads better than most humans would. “Probably easier to point people in the right direction.” The Doctor switches back without pausing. “Keeping them in the dark. Explanations take time.”
Not that he agrees with the Daligig’s methods.

Apparently not.

The Doctor laced his fingers together in front of him. "Snooping? I think you've had plenty of practice, Barbara." And yes, he did sound proud. "Try talking to the Daligig's guards. The big fellas, can't miss 'em."

"Why don't you come with me?" she asked and took hold of his hand. "You always have been terribly good at talking yourself out of trouble."

His eyes went from Barbara's hand around his to her face. Oh, that was tempting. Very tempting. So tempting he couldn't resist.
"Okay, so! You and me and a little investigation while we're at it. I'd like that." He smiled, reaching out to pat her hand.

"Come on, then!" she tugged at his hand, pulling him up from the chair and the little table. The teapot and its accompanying cup were abandoned for the time being
