What is Love? [Valentine's Date Event]

It's shaping up to be another average day on the Transmigration 9. Crew members are going about their business as usual and all is (to most appearances, at least) about as "well" as things ever are on the ship.

Some crew members are going to be stopped out of the blue by impact with a force field.

"Attention Crewmen: You have been chosen to participate in an experiment!" GLaDOS's voice informs. They're not alone, someone else that was nearby is also caught within the same narrow radius. "Participation is mandatory. Please try to relax and enjoy the experience, as this will improve the quality of the test results."

Clearly this is going to be a wonderful day for science.

"You and your new scientific partner are now on a date," GLaDOS goes on. "As it would be detrimental to our study of the date experience if you were to be separated, you must remain close to your partner for the duration of the experiment. This will be enforced with the Transmigration 9 Crewman Containment Field. Prolonged exposure to the Transmigration 9 Crewman Containment Field may have unexpected side-effects. While any side-effects encountered will be documented and your desire to offer yourself to science is commendable, it is not a necessary part of this experiment."

"You will be informed when the test has been completed. We would like to thank you in advance for your full cooperation in the experiment and failure to attempt to foil it in any way."

"The experiment has begun, so you may begin dating."

[OOC: The exact details of your characters' confinement are up to players' discretion. Being trapped in a sensorium or other stationary place is a possibility, as is being stuck in a sort of roving invisible force field hamster ball that only affects the two of you. How far partners can move apart is probably subject to whatever's fun but they ideally shouldn't be able to sit on opposite sides of a room ignoring one another the whole time.

ICly the "test" lasts for a few hours and you are free to godmode GLaDOS telling them the experiment is finished.

She felt like steam should be shooting out of her ears, so she tried to focus on the question at hand "W-well...I dunno. I've never been on a date before. What do people do? Like, dinner and a movie like on TV?" As with so much of her life, her frame of reference was either TV or being a hoodlum in the streets.

"Me either." He confessed, pinching her pink cheeks.

"Yeh, but we can't leave the room." He pointed to the forcefield then continues playing with her hair, knuckles brushing her cheek every so often.

"Good point." She nuzzled into the touches like a cat without even thinking about it. They had been spending so much time together since they moved in together that for how shy she was about some things, she had gotten used to how physically affectionate he was. If anything she'd begun to crave it in his absence. He always made her feel smart and strong.

Hana watched her for a little while as she nuzzled his hand. Finally, he broke the rather comfortable silence with a rather bold statement. "You look pretty today."

Apparently unfazed, he pushed himself up to stand. Stretching out his arms and back, stiff from laying on his stomach in such an odd angle for so long.

The compliment set off alarm bells of delight in Sandy's head and she tried to do her best not to openly celebrate. Instead she continued blushing and smiled as brightly as if she'd just won a million dollars. "T-thanks! I um...I think you look really, really cool." instantly cursing herself silently. Cool? who says cool? Surely that sounded childish and dumb!

Hana seemed to take the compliment well, grinning and offering her his hand. "Heh, you think?"

That brightened her up even more "Yeah! You're the coolest guy I know!" She took his hand and squeezed it eagerly.

Unsure of what to do, and not really eager to break this hold she stood still grinning and feeling like a dork but enjoying it.

"Yeh?" He seemed to consider this for a moment, then asked. "Well, how many guys do you know?"

For the most part, Hana seemed rather cocky about this question, but in his eyes seemed to be a hint of something else... jealousy, maybe? Jealous about what?

He seemed pretty okay with the fact they were still holding hands though.

That caught her off guard and she had to think about it (while still holding his hand naturally)

"Um...well...like how well do I have to know them? Because, I know some guys, but I don't "know" them the way I know you you know?" She realized how confusing that sounded but continued on.

"I don't really have any other guy friends. You're the only one...and the only one I'd you know...wanna...cuddle with and stuff." Referring to how she slept much better with less nightmares when they were cuddled up together.

He nodded as she spoke and listened without interrupting.

Now, Hana seemed proud and he smiled at her, but it was alot more subdued than his usual grins.

Hand still holding hers, he leant forward a little to touch foreheads with her. "Yeh, I like cuddling you. And I'm glad you only wanna do it with me." His expression seemed more serious and age appropriate than the ones he usually wore.

Sandy was so flustered she couldn't bring the words up. She found herself nuzzling into his touch though. His face felt soft and warm on her own.

And then, in an act of pure insanity she closed her eyes, summoned up her courage and brushed her lips over his.

Everything had felt so warm and nice Hana wanted it to stay like that forever. His hand having a relaxing hold on hers, her soft nuzzling warming his cheek.

Then he'd felt the brush.

Eyes widening and cheeks turning slightly pink, he pulls away to stare at her, letting go of her hand.

There was a pain in her chest at his sudden and sharp reaction, and it all happened so quickly she stumbled a little and had to lean against the wall to keep from falling down.

Her eyes were wide now too and her face red, horrified she could see their entire relationship falling apart. She'd ruined everything in one moment of impulsiveness!

Hana couldn't take his eyes off her. His expression was too hard to read. Confusion was definitely there though.

He instinctively reached out worriedly when she stumbled but when she seemed okay he retracted his hand.

He hadn't stopped moving closer though. Slowly, a step at a time.

But soon enough he was stood right infront of her.

He seemed focused as he brought his hands up to place them against the wall by either side of her head.

Seeing her pinned against the wall looking so scared and small his heart thudded in his chest and he licks his lips nervously. He was pretty sure at this point that his cheeks were on fire.

Carefully, he leaned in, hesitated for the briefest moment just before their lips connected then forced himself to go all the way. Pressing his lips to hers, gentle and warm.

Fireworks exploded in her eyes.

She slid them closed accepting the kiss, unable to consider anything else. Unable to even think of anything except the kiss. Stars were burning in her minds eye and her heart felt like it might explode. Her stomach was doing flips and it was a good thing he was right in front of her because she had to clutch at his shirt to keep her legs from giving way.

Myfirstkissmyfirstkissmyfirstkiss! Over and over again a voice celebrated and screamed with delight even though utter silence filled the room while they kissed.

The kiss was soft and sweet and over far too quickly when Hana thought about it.

He pulled back just enough to look at her, hands still on the wall.

He'd had to bend down a little to get on her level, but she didn't seem little anymore. Instead she seemed to be taking up his whole world.

Hana gave a sheepish smile, bringing their foreheads together again, eyes fixed on Sandys. "G-Good?"

Sandy's eyes seemed to be sparkling with delight, her breath light like she'd been running a marathon. "Y-yeah." She mumbled unable to look away, like he held her entranced. "R-really...really...really good."

He smiled shyly and brought their lips close together again, watching her and waiting. "Is again okay?" Because they were already so close, his lips brushed hers when he spoke.

"Please?" He added, suddenly finding himself desperate for a kiss from Sandy Marko.

She felt his breath, his lips on hers and she could smell whatever he'd eaten for lunch. It wasn't terrible it was just something that popped into her head.

"Y-yes please." She mumbled back and without giving him a chance kissed him again, still so soft and timid, but willing to let this one go as long as he'd let her. She felt so clumsy, so awkward. But at the same time he made her feel beautiful and brave.

Hana moved his hands to gently hold her face as he kissed her.

They kept this one nice and long and when they finally broke apart he was grinning like a fool. "Heh, you kissed me."

She squirmed and blushed and giggled shyly looking drunk on the kiss as she swayed gently in his hands. "Y-yeah well...I really really like you...I-I have for a long time." She confessed. It was so much easier to say it with the warmth from his kiss still tingling on her lips.

He looked surprised and tilted his head, sliding his hands down to wrap around her waist so they could cuddle.

"You have? Since when?"

Melting into his arms she thought about it, speaking softly afraid to break this wonderful spell of tender sweet ooie gooie romance that had found her.

"I dunno...the more we hung out I guess the more I...I figured out that I liked you like that." She mumbled shyly.

"Wow, really?"

Hana went red and pulled her close, hiding his face in her neck and mumbling. "Well, you know what?"

A shudder slid through her skin, and a stray thought crossed her mind. I haven 't even slipped into stoneform. this is amazing!!!

W-what's that?" She asked nervously.
