When the tentacle wrapped around his neck Ian took hold of it, trying to pull it away. He hadn't managed to move it at all by the time Barbara started hacking at it. All the time it was pulling him towards the chute. Since it wasn't that wide, Ian stretched himself out and found himself being slammed against the wall instead. "Ow," he said, although with the tentacle around his throat, it only came out as a whisper.
