Boredom in Hydroponics

Work, work, work. It was always work with Hank who could not stop for just a minute to take his mind off his lab creatures. Some boyfriend he was. Janet rolled her eyes for the umpteen time in the apartment they shared and flew out of the door, her wings taking her aimlessly through the ship. 

She managed to stumble into Hydroponics, again. The quiet surroundings may have calmed her mind but she was now very bored. "Argh, I'm so bored!" Janet exclaimed as she grew back to her normal size, swiping a flower along the way to look at the petals, hoping that the floral detail would catch her eye.


((OOC: Jan shrinks to about  10cm (4") in her wasp form and is 163cm (5'4") when she's in her normal human size.)

"Worried? You are so self absorbed with your work that you're always turning down my request to do something together! We've barely been on a date since the amusement park world!" Janet huffed and crushed the flower in her hands, throwing it to the ground.

Hank looked down at the poor little flower and frowned sadly. "Jan, it's not like I don't want to be with you, I just, I have to know things or it drives me crazy..." He sighs and runs his fingers through his hair.

"I wish you were as interested as I was in science. Maybe I can take a break from it for a while, for you."

"There is a time for work, there is also a time for socializing, resting and other things." Jan crossed her arms and looked at him.

"You're already extremely knowledgeable, Hank. You don't need to know everything in the universe. I understand science terms too but it's just not my thing, Hank. You have to understand that."

"I know, I know. I can't make you enjoy it the way I do." Hank rubbed the back of his head as he thought of what to say to her. "Alright, how about this. I'll make a schedule and stick to it. I'll set time aside for work, and have time set aside for spending time with you." Hank approached Janet and placed his hands on her shoulders.

"I love you Janet. I'll do whatever it takes so you'll be happy. Does that work?"

Janet's featured softened slightly. "Do you promise to stick to it? I promise to leave you alone when you're working."

"You have my word." Hank replied with a smile and a kiss on Janet's cheek. "I wouldn't mind of you helped me from time to time though, but you don't have to." He hugged Janet close and nuzzled her hair. "I love you, even more than I love science."

"More than science? Sure about that?" Jan raised an eyebrow and chuckled.

She embraced him back and rested her head on his shoulder. "I love you too."

"Mmm hmm, absolutely." Hank said and kissed her ear. "So, while we're here, is there anything you want to do? Like a little impromptu date?"

"Oh no, you'll get distracted in here. I was thinking maybe we should go to this tavern place in the city. I read that it's a pretty nice place."

Jan pulled away and gave him a sweet kiss on his lips.

Hank blushes a bit and nods as he follows her. "I've never been inside a tavern before to be honest. I'm sure it will be quite interesting."

"There's always something new to experience and learn." Janet replied as they held hands to walk to the city for another date.
