The display seemed enough to subdue Sobek's Jaffa temporarily and rally them to her. It would have been enough under normal circumstances. The Jaffa obeyed. They continued walking a few more steps when another ship imploded in on itself in the distance, reformed, then imploded, over and over. Lightning jumped the clouds, striking the jungle, ships. The sky turned into the void. Everything they knew was ending.

The Jaffa cried out, and the ones carrying Daniel looked once again to their God, who did nothing to stop this, nothing to save his forces from being destroyed. A God's whim could allow his followers destroyed, but these were the very instruments of his Will in the sky, all falling one by one! He must stop it!

Another ship fell to the jungle, a larger piece this time. It was enough. The Jaffa had deserted her in that moment, wildly looking for a way out. There God would not save them in this hour. Vala was left alone with Daniel's body on the floor.

There was no place to run with Kalimba devouring itself.
