It was working, or subduing him at least. Just as she felt him take control, that power over her seemed to slip away even in his fury. Vala battled to regain her limbs even as he promised her gruesome end, but there was no-one here to take as a host and with the renewed ownership of her own voice, he couldn't even call out. She needed to distance herself from Daniel, stop him from retaking him. She didn't know if that was possible but she wasn't about to take the risk. Not while he still had a modicum of power over her.

She had to wait and back off. Wait to see if the poison paralysed Sobek completely before she could even dare to go near Daniel. Vala managed a few steps away, all the while trying to ignore the Goa'uld and work out what to do.

The sarcophagus, it wasn't ideal. The knowledge of Eva's experience with it flooded into her mind from Sobek. Painful, excruciating - but functional. Daniel probably wouldn't thank her, but she hadn't gone through this to let him die. She still didn't know if she'd survive this, but she could guarantee one of them would. She would pose as Sobek, meeting no resistance from his Jaffa or followers. She'd pulled it off before, posing as Qetesh. How was this any different?
