The remaining Jaffa finally roused to life. He grasped his former companion by the shoulder and wordlessly dragged corpse out of the room, leaving a trail of growing blood behind them and Sobek alone with Vala. The God made no move to help her up. He looked her up and down, searching for any sign of injury. There didn't appear to be anything serious. He was confident the sarcophagus would bring someone back from death, and even though he would not get inside it, he was reluctant to put his future vessel inside that device. She would retain the memories of the faulty sarcophagus, and it was something he had no desire to experience when he blended with her.
"There's no room for disobedience in my eyes," Sobek said. He continued to look her over. The sudden urge to ask if she was alright bubbled up, strong, just as strong as his desire for violence, and Sobek's mouth opened to follow on the urge and ask. It had come from somewhere that he had dismissed as properly subdued and no longer of consequence, reduced to a shade next to his brilliance. Daniel. He snarled mentally, but it was too late. The moment's weakness disturbed the God, that second where he hadn't recognized it as his host and not himself as quickly as he should have.
His mouth closed, the mask of disinterest falling too late into place right after. The aloof gaze went to the back of the room. "I will have my bath now. Draw it, then undress me."
