He caught the flinch, the smile twitching into a smirk. The claws scratched into her skin, easily slicing the flesh. Just a mark here and there. The question pleased him, and he stroked the curve between hip and ribs approvingly, cold metal on skin, before parting from her. Eva had been returned to the cell in better condition than she'd left in, and perhaps Vala had pieced things together, or perhaps her own survival instincts, already stronger than most Tau'ri, had clued her in. Rather than live in fear, she wanted to be ready. And unlike Eva, she wouldn't risk death.

A certain degree of self sufficiency was needed in a close servant, especially if it kept her alive and still in his service.

"You are safe in the presence of your God. However. I will consider it," was all Sobek would say. Neither a yes or no. He could keep her around, everywhere, and that alone would promise her safety, but in order to serve him fully, it wasn't efficient. If she was killed or injured...

The look that came over his face was anything but pleasant. He was only reminded of what he would carry out, the continued punishment of the blasphemers. It looked predatory, dark, something that promised eternal suffering, but at the same time, there was a flicker of anticipation. "I have matters to attend to this cycle. You will accompany me."
