Is Your Love Strong Enough? Part 6 - The Final Scratch
Such a strange occurrence needed, finally a conclusion. Thanks for the Time Lord's trinket gift, there was suddenly an old, fearsome creature made of gears, it's old features squeaking (although not as bad as before, since a certain someone had given him a good oil job). Analog, the fearsome creature known by some as a the crankiest Time Dragon, walked in the city to find out o where Eleven was. She could smell him even in here, you see (wow that's creepy). Flanked by her three handmaidens, the women giggling like schoolgirls at everything, memorized at the ship. The city could hold her well, for all her large size.
First step - Find the Doctor, ask him what he wants. Step two - Do that. Step three - Get out of here.
She still was a Time Dragon, after all. Proud....and cranky. These boring old puny humanoids were nothing as the greatness of HERSELF so the sooner they were our of her mind, the better.

Marco & Sakura
Sakura hadn't meant to say that out loud, and was pretending that she hadn't, even as she crouched down next to Marco's currently very unanimated body and checked his pulse. Steady, if nothing felt terribly strong about him. Where most folks looked peaceful as they slept, the bodies of those currently without souls in occupancy looked more eerie. This wasn't rest.
Sakura'd seen this look before. It was being one step away from the grave.
"You ready for this?" she muttered, knowing Marco wouldn't have any trouble hearing her. Her own distress was far too apparent, inwardly. Outwardly she looked calm and businessly enough, until you caught a glimpse of her eyes.
Sakura didn't want to do this. Honesty was more than she felt she could afford, and she didn't have a choice. She hated having that choice taken away from her. She hated having the veneer of polite social distance forcibly taken away.
Mostly she didn't want to have this discussion with Marco, on the tail end of basically already having this discussion with Marco. At least this should be relatively easier for him. His hang-ups weren't around these kinds of interpersonal relationships.
Shit.
Marco & Sakura
Sakura's distress would get a flash of annoyance from Marco. He wasn't a fan of forced truth-telling - for anything - but if it would get him back in his own body and no longer having that constant feeling of someone else in his head, of feeling like his limbs were being controlled by somebody else...he'd do it.
Marco & Sakura
Marco & Sakura
Uncomplicated maybe, but for what they needed, it was accurate enough.
Marco & Sakura
This was all she had to say, right? It was a complete admission, like what the book wanted. It met the same conclusion bit at the very least.
If it was, though, then why wasn't anything happening?
Marco & Sakura
...this had better not mean that you don't actually think I'm attractive.
Marco & Sakura
Deflate his ego, not inflate it. Worry started churning in her stomach, and she frowned. We agreed. We reached the same conclusion. That should be enough!
Marco & Sakura
Sakura wasn't the only one starting to worry too - if they couldn't figure this out, he'd be stuck. It'd be like getting trapped in morph, but worse.
Marco & Sakura
By the time their excuses got more off the mark, Sakura's patience and unease with herself got the better of her.
"Oh, will you both just shut-up?"
Sakura wasn't in the best mood, and if she were being fair and honest, it wasn't Lash or Zetta's fault. The fact they were obliviously having the difficulty she was conscious about having just didn't do anything to improve how she was feeling. "It's got nothing to do with whether or not you're meant to mix, or what your skills are, or what species -- let alone planet! -- you're from!"
Part projection, part irritation, pushed her on. "Sure, you enjoy spending time together, because it can be fun, but it's more than that. Isn't it? Even if you didn't want it to be, even if you set out at the start thinking it wouldn't ever be. There's times when you kiss where it's more than just the hormonal rush that's making you giddy, but why would you want to pay attention to that? It might mean you care. You care a whole lot more than you want to, and you know if they're hurting, then you're hurting too, even if there's not a damn thing you can do about it."
Wow, this was such an upper! "You know you'd do your damnedest to keep them safe, no matter how impossible it may be to hurt them, let alone kill them, because you don't like thinking about living without them. Not even for the sake of their friends, or their family, but that selfish part of yourself. You care! If it was just about fun, you could walk away whenever you argued, or things weren't going your way. You'd shrug and say you'll find someone else who doesn't let things get in the way of having fun. Have you? Have either of you walked away?"
She threw her hands in the air.
"It's pretty simple, you know! You," she pointed at Lash, "Admit that Zetta's important to you. And you!" She pointed to Zetta. "Admit that how Lash feels matters to you. If she's happy, if you can make her happy, if you can protect her, or whatever else goes through your demonic overlord mind! Same with you, Lash! If either one of you were repodded tomorrow, how the hell would you feel? Ask yourself why you'd feel that way."
She crossed her arms firmly over her chest, incredibly self-defensive. There's your answer. Her unstated "Now get out," was fairly tangible.
Marco & Sakura
"Aha!" Marco cried, giddy, sitting up and wriggling his fingers just because he could. "I'm me again!"
He didn't really have anything to say in response to Sakura's rant. For one, he was still kinda busy revealing at the fact that he was alone in his head again. For another, Marco wasn't really one to talk about what other people meant to him, or what he meant to others. He just acted accordingly.
Marco & Sakura
She did keep talking to and at Lash and Zetta. Far easier to focus on other people. Sakura already knew Marco was physically fine, and right now? Caring about the mental aspects was beyond her level of emotional function. Give her a day to start properly putting herself into silent order, and feeling strangely alone in her own mind.
Strangely, thankfully alone.
Marco & Sakura
No way was he going anywhere with any goddamn flowers in his hair. No. Way.
Marco & Sakura
For once, her face is inscruitable, something so unusual for Sakura that it's strange to see on her face, having no idea what she's thinking. Not that she knew, nor that she'd have cared. Looking at Marco, who had a stray flower further back on his head, peeking out through his hair, she was thinking. Thinking and not thinking, since there were different levels, and a good big fat half said this is infatuation and it'll be over soon enough on both your sides right along with is it really and if it is...
Were these actual decisions? She had half-made ones when she walked over, plucking the flower that had her attention out of his hair. She held it in her hand, fingers closed over it.
"Come on," she said, not entirely amicable, but better than she'd sounded when 'discussing' with Zetta and Lash. Or was it debating? Hitting thickheaded people over the braincase until they acknowledge what they wanted? "Let's get out of here."
She waited, staring at him, then turned and started walking. His cue to follow, or to go off on his own merry way. She wasn't asking. Her hand closed over the flower, crushing its delicate petals. She wasn't in a mood to play around with asking. It left too much room for doubt.
Marco & Sakura
"Where exactly are we going?" he said, scowling at that flower.
Marco & Sakura
Marco & Sakura
Marco & Sakura
Admittedly, that was just a somewhat fun word to say. If Marco couldn't figure out what that was, his general loss.
Sakura didn't stop walking.
Marco & Sakura
...did he hear that right?! He can't have heard that right. It must just be all the frustration from this whole goddamn week talking. Because no way could what he heard be what she actually said.
"What?!" he said, dumbly.
