Is Your Love Strong Enough? Part 1 - The Frozen Maiden In An Isle Of Snow.

Not all parts of the city had been explored, that much was true. On to a far corner of the northern side, what was once a beautiful garden was now pieces of cracked paintings and petrified wood. Whatever temperature happened here, the rain seemed to turn to snow once it entered the area, and judging from the amount, the place had not been perturbed for quite a while.

Nestled in the center, a figure stood there, looking like a giant frozen statue in mid-walk. The clothing seemed to be of Japanese-like origin, a bright pink kimono with floral patterns, which was hard to spot in the cold weather.

No one had ventured here. The path leading to it was dark and while not filled with anything particularly dangerous, only those brave...or crazy would want to come here...until now.

[OOC - this is the startup post for the three to find and rescue her. Results for the randomization is coming soon!]

Pinkie Pie was skipping along happily through the city, not paying any attention to where she was actually going. She only stopped in her tracks when she felt snow crunch under her hooves. "OHMYGOSH IT'S SNOWING!"

It took her a few minutes of rolling and jumping in the snow before she even noticed the figure. A pink statue! And were those flowers? How cool was that? She knew for sure she couldn't keep such a neat place to herself, so she flipped on her communicating talky-thingie and sent out a quick message. (http://trans-channel.livejournal.com/405481.html)

"Now, what do you mean there's snOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!"

It had been quite awhile since Sonic had dealt with any sort of snowy terrain. Thus, when he reached the area Pinkie Pie had found, he found himself skidding across the snow, barely stopping himself from hitting something else.

"...okay, so there IS snow." Shaking his head, he found himself spotting the pink pony... and the pink statue. "...color-coordinated. Scary."

"Okay," Pinkie spoke into her talky thingie. "I'll see you in a sec-WOW HOW DID YOU GET HERE SO FAST?!"

A sudden breeze blew snow flurries around and Nima landed, folding her glider with a sharp whoosh and holding out her hand to catch a few flakes.

"It really is snow!" she exclaimed, delighted and surprised. "But it's much too warm for snow -"

She looked around the garden, her eyes wide as she recognized some of the motifs in the artwork and the arrangement of the flowers - and her gaze rested on the statue.

She turned back to her companions. "Look at this - why would a statue be wearing clothing?"

It occurred to her, after she asked, that she might have been asking the wrong people in regards to anything having to do with clothes.

"...I thought statues are supposed to wear clothes." Sonic said, moving up to examine the statue. It wasn't until then he realized what was going on.

"Wait, this isn't part of the statue, it's actual clothes!" he said, blinking. True, he was acting like Captain Obvious, but the fact of the matter remained. "...I don't think this might be a statue. That or someone took pains to REALLY put these clothes on!"

"It's not a statue? But it's not moving or anything!" Pinkie Pie was also being master of the obvious. She approached it carefully and examined it very closely. "It sure looks like a statue to me!"

"A woman frozen in place, snow when it's too warm for snow - this looks like the work of spirits to me."

Not that Nima's an expert on the activities of spirits.

"I wonder if someone froze her here?"

[identity profile] supersonicracer.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Daligig!" Sonic said, letting out a fake sneeze. At this point, if something's wrong with this place, it was probably the Daligig's fault.

"Now the question is, if she's frozen like that, how do we get her out?"

[identity profile] mylittlelolny.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
"I know! I know!" Pinkie threw a hoof into the air. "We'll get a really BIG hairdryer, and we'll have her out in no time!"

Why wait for a hairdryer when you have an airbender? Nima whirls up a quick blast of air, warmed at the meatship's usual temperature, and blasts the statue with it. No harm in trying, right?
