Phase one done. Then as it continued to shoot the laser he was blocking, she used the lower weapon to fire just as many brightly colored balls on him. Except these happened to be killed with explosives.

If you couldn't defeat them on a normal level, improvise. Bend the rules just enough so it was still plausible. Oh and also improvise hilariously because it was fun.
