Bendytimed after this post. OPEN
Hikari sighed, leaning against the wall of the sensorium as she watched one of the more recent battles that she had been involved in, the fight against Vilgax. She hadn't been able to figure out how she had managed to evolve Tailmon to her ultimate form of Holydramon during that fight, so she figured it was about time she took another look at it.
She just hoped that looking at the fight would actually let her be able to figure out how they were able to do it.
Tailmon was watching the fight too, just as interested in figuring this out as Hikari was. "We'll figure out how it happened soon," she said, crossing her arms over her chest. "And then we'll know how to do it again when we need too."
Hikari nodded. "Yeah..." She didn't miss that Tailmon said WHEN they needed to use it, and not if. But Hikari couldn't blame Tailmon for thinking that, with the type of odds they've come up against, they probably were going to need to use it again.
The young girl winced a bit when they got to the part where Vilgax had knocked Angewomon back into Tailmon, watching closely as she saw the memory version of her start to glow pink. Even now, she could still remember how her body felt when that happened; it had felt like it was cooking her from the inside.
But it wasn't happening now, and she made sure keep watching, seeing that light shoot off into a beam towards the memory-Tailmon, turning her into Holydramon.
And that's when Hikari saw it. Something that she hadn't realized when it was happening.
The memory stopped, staying in place for a moment.
The memory-Hikari was in her normal form, not using the pactio after that.
It was obvious. It should've been obvious the entire time. The only source of power that Hikari had that she didn't have in the Digital World was the pactio with Negi she had formed after the failure that was the Zokez II battle.
Why didn't she realize this sooner?
She shook her head, letting out a sigh as the scene faded away. "I'm such a dummy."
Tailmon blinked, looking over at her. "It's not like I was able to figure it out either..."
"But it was right in front of my face," Hikari said, moving down to pick up Tailmon in her arms. "But at least we know how it happened now..."
Tailmon nodded, but she didn't point out that they still needed to figure out how to make it happen consistently. She hadn't evolved to Ultimate during the battle on that last mission, after all. Not that she needed to, so it was a good thing that she didn't, but still. Having power like that and not being able to use it consistently was really frustrating.

And she could not help but notice when one involved herself. Even for her, it was hard not to wonder what was going on...
And, well, it wasn't as if she had to just sit and guess about it. She let herself into the now-featureless room. "You were reviewing the battle?"
no subject
Tailmon stretched, but she didn't really see the point in mentioning that they wanted to check to see why they were all still alive.
Hikari shook her head. "How've you been?"
no subject
"...is there some doubt you're having? You did very well, then." She wasn't going to abandon her inquiry quite so easily.

Though it was nice of Rein to offer. "Was there anything you were looking to do when you came over here though?"

"Any reason why?" Tailmon asked. That, well, seemed like a bit of a waste of time, as far as she was concerned.
Hikari didn't say anything for a moment, mostly because she wasn't exactly sure how she should react to that. "I didn't even know people could do that."

At Hikari's statement she simply nods. But speaking of otherworldly magic... "If you don't mind me asking, what is the relationship between you two?" ...magically speaking, she meant.

"How did you meet? Does one of you choose the other, or...?" With that description it could be compared to any number of magics she was familiar with, from summoning to the creation of guardian beasts to her own guardian knight system...

Tailmon nodded, deciding to answer her. "It's a bit complicated. I was created for the sole reason of being her partner to help save our world. But well... I was separated from the others, so while they met them their partners together, I didn't meet Hikari to later on. I... ended up forgetting about what I was supposed to be, and was part of the army of digimon that were trying to invading Hikari's world to kill her. It wasn't till I met her that I realized what was going on and went back to the side where I belonged."
