Hydroponics was simply amazing.

It was relaxing. That was the best way Aerith could describe it. She was sure there had been plenty before her to make this observation, though. Still, it was comforted her in a way she'd needed. Even if it wasn't the planet, her planet, it still gave her a sense of peace. Despite it being an artificial environment, it was realistic and that in itself was astonishing to her.

Nanaki had mentioned the area before, but seeing it for herself was a different story. It made her forget, just for a moment, about being on a strange ship in the middle of space.

That was a nice feeling. She could see why people would spend a lot of time here.

So she wandered around, absorbing what she could, taking in all that was around her. Aerith didn't have a specific purpose - other than exploring. It certainly was a big place.

"We'd just argue who gets it anyhow," pointed out Agumon. "It's better if a third party takes it to save us the trouble."

"He's got a point," said Taichi with a shrug.

After thinking it over, Aerith accepted the soda. "Thank you," she said, examining the drink closely. It wasn't like any she'd come across before.

"Do the two of you fight a lot? You seem close." She looked over at them as she opened the drink, curious about the pair.

At that, they both laughed. "We do actually," admitted Taichi.

"But we make up since we've been partners for so long." finished Agumon.

"Almost five years now, eh bud?"

She smiled as she watched them, their close bond obvious even to her. Taking a sip of the soda, she looked taken aback before taking another sip, slower this time.

"I've never had anything like this before. It's....interesting," she decided. She swished the drink a bit as she made herself more comfortable. "Fights are bound to happen when you're close with someone, especially after five years."

"It's kind of like soda, but not. More fruity and with a hint of something I can't tell." said Taichi. He nodded at that. "Agumon and I have been together for a long time, and our first year together was really something."

"A year in a digital world, three days back home, and another few months." said Agumon. "What a sight."

Aerith let out a hum of agreement - the drink was fruity, but she couldn't put her finger on how to describe it best.

Her attention caught by what Agumon said, she gave him a curious look. "A digital world? What do you mean?"

"Ah I come from the digital world, which runs parallel to the human world. My people are called digimon, and we live there. Sometimes we can come to the human world when the conditions are right." explained Agumon.

"That's how we first met. I fell into a rift between the human and the digital world." added Taichi.

This was a little confusing, but sounded a tiny bit familiar.

"By any chance, would either of you know a girl named Miyako?" The girl had told Aerith something along these lines when she'd met with her before, and this was probably one of the people Miyako knew here.

"Yeah she's one of our friends here," said Taichi. "From our world in fact."

"She's one of the younger Chosen actually," added Agumon. "Her and Hawkmon."

"The Chosen?" Aerith tilted her head at this, thinking it over. Such titles marked a certain importance usually, and the way Miyako had talked it seemed she'd been involved in quite a bit of fighting. This probably meant Taichi and Agumon were as well.

"I wasn't able to meet Hawkmon, hopefully I will next time."

"That's right, Chosen are kids who have become partnered with Digimon." said Taichi, nodding.

"I'm surprised he wasn't around. We digimon tend to stick to people like glue," said Agumon.

"So the Chosen are all young?" It seemed like such a great responsiblity to have when young, but then it seemed quite a few people had been pushed into that role even in their early years.

"That's right. Chosen range between ages early as eight to about thirteen or so. I haven't met anyone older but then again, I'm fifteen and I just got older." Taichi shrugged. "I dunno if it's got something to do with kids being more versatile than adults, but who knows. We've been pretty good at what we do."

"I see." What he said made sense, and she could admit that kids did seem more resilient than most. Yuffie sprang to mind at that thought, even if she was sixteen she was still so young.

Giving Agumon a smile, Aerith fiddled with the soda in her hand. "And do you have any special powers Agumon?"

"Yeah, with Taichi's help, I can evolve to higher forms!" exclaimed Agumon. "Greymon, Metal Greymon and War Greymon!"

"They're pretty awesome," added the small dino digimon.
