[open] wide open spaces

Hydroponics was simply amazing.

It was relaxing. That was the best way Aerith could describe it. She was sure there had been plenty before her to make this observation, though. Still, it was comforted her in a way she'd needed. Even if it wasn't the planet, her planet, it still gave her a sense of peace. Despite it being an artificial environment, it was realistic and that in itself was astonishing to her.

Nanaki had mentioned the area before, but seeing it for herself was a different story. It made her forget, just for a moment, about being on a strange ship in the middle of space.

That was a nice feeling. She could see why people would spend a lot of time here.

So she wandered around, absorbing what she could, taking in all that was around her. Aerith didn't have a specific purpose - other than exploring. It certainly was a big place.

Terry was really starting to dig Hydroponics. At first, the place had felt almost suffocating, with all the plant life. Terry had grown up in a world of steel and concrete, choked with pollution. Hydroponics was strangely exotic to him, and quickly becoming his new favorite hang-out.

He was content to just sit under a tree and relax, but he wasn't against socializing a bit. When he saw Aerith, he called out, "Hey."

Terry smiled warmly. It was odd, but he was happy to find someone on the ship that didn't seem to be as serious about saving the world or upset about the end of the world as most of the crew mates were. Not that they didn't know how to cut loose or anything, but this girl somehow seemed like she didn't have to.

"Yeah, they're pretty nice. But I'm not used to trees, so I don't really know how to judge one."

Terry laughed. "Y'know, I've never climbed a tree either. There just weren't a lot of trees were I grew up, except for in the parks. And most of those were pretty small. I guess a lot of the really big trees got cut down for city development."

"Sounds like an interesting set of friends. I've seen people jump around from rooftops, but never trees. But I guess that's because Gotham has a lot more and taller buildings."

He stood up, taking a look up at the tree.

"Y'know what," he said, more to himself then to her, "I can climb flat buildings. I bet I could climb a tree."
