In that regard, Zouichi tended to separate people into those he concerned himself with, and those he didn't. Were someone weak, disoriented, frightened, or the last of their kind, he'd go the extra length to reassure them and lend them aid. A person who was combative, rude, and perfectly capable of taking themselves, on the other hand, was essentially not his problem. The vulnerable came first.

"I don't not want to hear your story," he said. Yeah, eat THAT double negative. "But if that changes, I'll let you know."
