Okay, creepiness aside of running into a) more humans in days than he's seen in cycles and b). one with the same name as him, John thinks he's handling it pretty well. And John 2 isn't too bad a guy if he was willing to hold his hair for him, figuratively speaking.

"Yeah, kinda turned around. Also John." He takes that hand and instead of shaking it, he pulled himself up so he could use John 2 as a human crutch. Or old lady walker. At this point he isn't seeing the distinction and at the same time he's also privately happy that for once he wouldn't have to explain what a "walker" was, not with another Earth boy like him. "Don't try the stuff over there," he waves vaguely back the way they came. "Probably watered it down."

Or in other words, it took way too long to get where he is now.
