He took out a pad of paper and pen (which still had that kanji he'd scribbled to Sakura), sketching out each of the jars instead and making notes of their contents and symbols. Then he unloaded one of the rifles, put the ammunition away in one of his pockets, and hurled the gun upward onto the bank where he'd jumped down from.
As for the jars... hmm. He reached into another of his pockets and took out a small, black canister-type object. Normally, this would be for procuring blood samples, but...
He opened the canister, revealing four small, clear vials set inside. There weren't enough containers for all of the powders, but he took samples of the black and white powders, and two of the others at random. He secured each safely back within the canister and closed it, putting it away once more.
Now it was time to check the rest of the cave for any additional clues.
