It all seemed so empty and shallow to him. Not to mention adding a bunch of unnecessary clutter to ones life. If one ever managed to get into his quarters on the Ptolemy, they wouldn't find much. Outside of a handful of clothes (He doesn't need that big of a wardrobe), a couple of pictures tucked into a drawer, and a flower, there wasn't any kind of unnecessary adornments. And, really, the flower he only kept because of who gave it to him and why, not because of what it was.

Still, he observed, though he found himself paying more attention to how she smiled (he thought it was cute pretty adorable something worth noting for reasons that eluded him) than the things she was looking at. Though he did make a mental catalog of the things that made her smile the brightest.
