For one second, Daniel wanted nothing more than to wipe the smug look off her face. He knew he was in the wrong. She obviously knew he was in the wrong. But when someone apologized, and they meant it, which Daniel certainty did, you didn't act so infuriating smug. Daniel restrained the poor temper about to come out. He thought seriously for a second about taking back the apology, then had to admit that was just childish. It was like Vala was bringing out the worst in him. Daniel reminded himself again, just because it helped, that he was actually in the wrong this time and walked into it.

"Daligigs," Daniel corrected her impatiently. He had the sinking suspicion that she knew full well what it was and was doing it on purpose. Although he wasn't that much closer to answering who they were either. It also wasn't something he felt like sharing with her. "They didn't provide us with it. We found it on the dig I got back from."

Daniel couldn't follow her. One moment she was mad at him, another moment, she was over it, and now she was making jokes about efficiency via sarcophagus. The archaeologist made a face. That was incredibly tasteless, Vala, and it wasn't funny.

"That's not funny," and she wasn't supposed to be touching it. He didn't think it could get more damaged than it already was, but he'd also learned in his time at the SGC that there was some truth behind "never say never". It might be Goa'uld, but there were some differences. If she got hurt...

The problem was, unlike everyone else, Vala obviously knew her way around it, what it was, how it worked, how to turn it on. "And don't touch that. "
