Alanna nodded, grateful for the information. It gave her a better picture of the society that she'd become a part of rather suddenly. "I approve," she commented with a smile. "Titles might have their uses depending on the norms of that society, but unfortunately those with power and authority gifted to them by birth are often not those best suited to it and, in a war of any sort, it's particularly vital that those in charge be competent and experienced."

Violet eyes focused intently on Sandry's face as the knight listened carefully, noting how uncomfortable her companion seemed at this line of questioning. It was possible that Sandry was uncomfortable on her own behalf, but the line about being "at liberty" to discuss it suggested otherwise. "This have to do with my brother then?" Alanna was tired of this game. She'd never liked them anyway. "Please don't keep things from me. If you know something of my brother's magic problems, then it's important that you tell me."
