Jamie knows on some level that most of the female part of the crew is capable of taking care of themselves, some of them quite well. But he comes from a time when women weren't doing such things, and he tends to be protective when it comes to their well-being. At the same time, though, he's also starting to know when it's better to compromise. Or at least try to compromise.

"Well," he says, after a moment's thought. "I should take a look around anyway, so I can go with ye. Two eyes'll be better than one, I'd say."
