Face it, there's no love lost between River Song and the Master. Whatever stories he'd told her about the Master in their future together must have really sunk in. She seems to think that it's her job to protect the Doctor and keep him safe - at any cost. The Master, no doubt, proved to be a threat to that self-appointed job.
