Lirath - Ground Battle
After dropping off some of the crew at Balisair, it was time for the crew to set course for Lirath. The situation greeting them wasn't the most promising.
The cracked surface of the moon called Lirath was one of its most unmistakeable features. One of the three moons of the planet Kehoe, it had been terraformed and served as a settlement for a hundreds of different species, some humanoid, some not. Despite occasional class struggles, environmental issues, and speciesism blocking their way, the darker parts of Lirath's past were largely left behind, and an era of peace and tolerance had reigned for quite some time. The only problems they'd had recently were with a terrorist group whose cause for their actions had been a mystery, but they weren't tied to any particular species or social group and had been likened to a cult and had largely gone quiet in recent years.
Now the peace on the moon of Lirath had been shattered by the invasion of the Ohm.
The capital city had been destroyed. Now, all that was left of the peoples of Lirath was evacuating from one of its smaller cities, one known as Smyteval. A desert city, existing in a valley in between a rocky range of canyons and mountains, even though it was in the low ground, the natural channels of rock served as bottlenecks for any Ohm attacking from the ground.
GIA squadrons patrolled in space, locked in explosive warfare, protecting the Bleed-gate that had been activated to see the evacuated ships to the refugee world, and a shield created by massively-powerful shield generators extended around the city and up into the atmosphere, creating a shielded tunnel so ships could escape.
Word had come that there was a vital weapon to be deployed on Lirath, one that needed to be destroyed, hence why the Transmigration 9 had been called in. Given the diverse crew, and the ships that were in its hangar, there was at least someone or something on board that could blow the weapon up if it did show.
There was no sign of it yet. Right now, there was just chaos, streams of evacuees boarding ships, armies of Ohm engaged with GIA soldiers outside the shields, and forcefields that everyone hoped would hold out just a little bit longer.
The crew would be following Leon's orders but finding themselves fighting side-by-side with GIA platoons, full of various species that were currently all getting their asses kicked severely.

Re: MASH UNIT - MEDICAL STAFF
Howard arrives a few minutes late due to having to drag a wounded adult civilian in - not an easy task for someone barely topping a hundred pounds. Said wounded civilian, upon being pulled into the tent, stands up on his own and walks over to the hospital bed of his choosing.
"A little thanks wouldn't kill you, lardo," he mutters at the civilian, but he stares in awe at the perfectly fit people, all awaiting treatment for some reason, and the clock face overlaying the scene. "Did I just walk into the wrong tent?"
He grabs one of the GIA medics and presses them for information, at which point they give him a bare-bones description of the ability causing these strange and fortunate circumstances. It's only when the medic points out that it's Miranda Lotto who's creating this event that Howard's jaw drops. Drops so hard he think he might have popped a joint in his face, actually.
After a few moments of mouthing 'no way, seriously?' to himself, he walks up to his usually-panicky coworker. "I had no idea you could do that."
And then, as if her ability puts her in charge, and because he's certainly not about to take orders from the GIA if he can help it, he asks "what do you want me to do and where?"
Re: MASH UNIT - MEDICAL STAFF
Then she baulked, staring. Was he...asking her what to do?! But Miranda didn't know! All she had to do was keep her Time Recovery working, not tell anyone else what to do! She raised her hands, shaking them at Howard madly in an emphatic 'no' gesture. "I...I'm not in charge!"
Re: MASH UNIT - MEDICAL STAFF
"Well, I'm not taking GIA orders if I can help it. I can't tell what's wrong with who while your record's on. Who needs help right now?"
Re: MASH UNIT - MEDICAL STAFF
But, if she didn't, then no one would get treated...she couldn't panic. She had to...stay calm, and try and tell Howard who needs help.
"Well...bed number four has a gash in his thigh," she said nervously. "Bed number 8 has a broken arm, and bed number 10 has burns all over their chest...and, um, there are other patients in the main tent that aren't affected by my Time Record. They're the ones being treated at the moment; the ones in triage are just waiting until someone is free to look at them."
Re: MASH UNIT - MEDICAL STAFF
"Alright, burns." He resists the urge to grab her by the shoulders and shake her while yelling 'speak up and pull it together, girl!'. The main tent seems to be running smoothly, which means he can tend to triage. It's what he's best at anyway. "Bed ten gets hydrated in advance while I work on the bleeder in bed four. Bed eight can wait if he isn't going to go into shock as soon as you stop your voodoo magic on him. Anything else?"
Re: MASH UNIT - MEDICAL STAFF
"It's not voodoo!" she blurted out. "It's Innocence, not magic."
Re: MASH UNIT - MEDICAL STAFF
Leg wounds tend to be bad; people don't realize that they'll bleed out and won't call for help soon enough. And a healer will be better for the broken bone - the most a regular medic can do here is set it. He quickly collects the necessary equipment to treat the gash. Even knowing that Miranda is pausing the effects of their injuries, time is important here.
"Oh, my God. I so don't care. If it works, it works." But on the other hand, he is a little bit impressed that she worked up the nerve to correct him.
And, you know, a little impressed that she managed to reverse localized time. That's sort of cool.
Re: MASH UNIT - MEDICAL STAFF
Miranda nodded up ahead, towards the battlefield - a medic was bringing in another patient, who's wounds miraculously disappeared as they approached the MASH unit.
"Um...I need to go see to them," she said, apologetic, before starting to walk towards them. She had to explain exactly what had happened, otherwise they might think that the patient could go back to the battlefield straight away. She'd already had three patients try to walk back already.
Re: MASH UNIT - MEDICAL STAFF
"Good job with the, uh, whatever it is you're doing that isn't actually voodoo." 'Innocence'? Whatever that is.
And having 'contributed', he rushes over to bed four with sutures, bandages and iodine, and carts the patient towards where the leg wound will reopen.
Re: MASH UNIT - MEDICAL STAFF
Then she saw the sign and boggled. "But...but...but I told you it isn't voodoo!"
