Lirath - Ground Battle
After dropping off some of the crew at Balisair, it was time for the crew to set course for Lirath. The situation greeting them wasn't the most promising.
The cracked surface of the moon called Lirath was one of its most unmistakeable features. One of the three moons of the planet Kehoe, it had been terraformed and served as a settlement for a hundreds of different species, some humanoid, some not. Despite occasional class struggles, environmental issues, and speciesism blocking their way, the darker parts of Lirath's past were largely left behind, and an era of peace and tolerance had reigned for quite some time. The only problems they'd had recently were with a terrorist group whose cause for their actions had been a mystery, but they weren't tied to any particular species or social group and had been likened to a cult and had largely gone quiet in recent years.
Now the peace on the moon of Lirath had been shattered by the invasion of the Ohm.
The capital city had been destroyed. Now, all that was left of the peoples of Lirath was evacuating from one of its smaller cities, one known as Smyteval. A desert city, existing in a valley in between a rocky range of canyons and mountains, even though it was in the low ground, the natural channels of rock served as bottlenecks for any Ohm attacking from the ground.
GIA squadrons patrolled in space, locked in explosive warfare, protecting the Bleed-gate that had been activated to see the evacuated ships to the refugee world, and a shield created by massively-powerful shield generators extended around the city and up into the atmosphere, creating a shielded tunnel so ships could escape.
Word had come that there was a vital weapon to be deployed on Lirath, one that needed to be destroyed, hence why the Transmigration 9 had been called in. Given the diverse crew, and the ships that were in its hangar, there was at least someone or something on board that could blow the weapon up if it did show.
There was no sign of it yet. Right now, there was just chaos, streams of evacuees boarding ships, armies of Ohm engaged with GIA soldiers outside the shields, and forcefields that everyone hoped would hold out just a little bit longer.
The crew would be following Leon's orders but finding themselves fighting side-by-side with GIA platoons, full of various species that were currently all getting their asses kicked severely.

A few quick calibrations, range increments, setting up and...
FWOOM!
The glatling sniper shot a massive, invisible beam towards the nearest duo of firebugs, their mistake was huddling together as the super heated beam shot right through two of them, leaving a massive scalding and gut spewing hole on their carapace, making them buckle and fall to the ground.
"Fuck yeah! Right on bro!" he cheered as he set the gatling sniper to cool down while it got ready for the next blast. In the mean time, he'd use his own high powered plasma sniper to take out important targets while he waited.
The ships guns were set on auto for defense purposes in case something got too close.

He used his thrusters to dodge in a sideways roll as a stray Shrike came at him, leveling the Battroid's particle cannon at another cluster of Firebugs. He'd heard that this had been designed to pierce the reinforced carapaces of another interstellar insectoid species. Now was a time to put that to the test. He fired, obliterating his target in a blaze of energy fire.
Hey. It worked!
Zouichi switched back to GERWALK to launch himself back up off the ground, deliberately moving forward to draw the attention of several more Shrikes who had begun sniffing around the area.

"WhoooooO! Keep em toasty!"
"You might like this one~" he called out as he set one of the launchers on his ship behind Zouichi. After a few moments, a large canister shot out at incredible speed! When it was near the Shrike group following Z's craft, it exploded, sending hundreds of smaller canisters in all directions. After a few seconds, all the canisters blew in a display of plasma explosions that peppered the sky space. Several Shrikes that failed to disengage from Zouichi got blown to bits in the airborne carpet bombing attack.
"Like shootin' zerg in a barrel!"

Now that he was up in the air, the remaining Shrikes following in his vapor trail, he shifted to fighter mode for that extra burst of speed, banking hard to the left as he fired a series of Sentinel rockets, breaking up the last of his airborne pursuit.
He switched back to Battroid to unleash some machine gun rounds on some of ground troops in the area, careful to avoid fire from the beleaguered GIA forces. Out of the corner of his eye, however, he thought he detected a flash of... something.
"There might be a couple of Assassins running around here," he said, glancing about. "And I'd say you'd be a pretty high priority target. Watch yourself."

Splicer grinned, focusing his psy sensors to lock onto the remaining assailants. He took a moment to focus and let loose a Mind Lash, stunning one of them, scrambling the brain of one of them as he fell dead to the ground and making the other wobble from the psionic assault.
He uncloaked himself and grinned, soon accompanied by a direct copy of himself standing besides him and both of them emitting twin psiblades from their arms.
"Well, guess it's about time I danced, tho I'm not sure yer my types~" And he was on them, tricking them into attacking the hallucination and making use of his shadowjump to make it impossible for them to keep track of the actual Splicer.
"Hope ya got better luck up there, I'm havin' guests over, but I don't think they're likin' what I'm servin'! Ha!"

Unfortunately, the rest of its fellows rose up from the clouds in short order, screaming along past the remnants of their friend and gaining. Zouichi took a chance, switched to Battroid, and dropped as the Shrikes roiled past, locking targets and cutting loose with a mass missile launch as he fell to Lirath's surface. He swapped back to GERWALK, pushing its thrusters hard to break out of the vertical free-fall.
"They came to your house, and now they're complaining about the food? What a bunch of ingrates."
no subject
"No kiddin' man, you'd swear that being bugs they'd be more enticed to any type of food, but nooooo they had to go an' make a fuss outta it. But whatever, I think they had to leave early." he mused as he activated the glattling sniper once more, targeting another grouped up pack of firebugs ready for the picking.
"You'd swear they realize safety in numbers doesn' always work how ya want it yeah?" a grin spreading on his face as he let the next powered up shot rip, roaring through the skies as it lands, running it's beam right through another pair of firebugs that topple over and crush a few of the smaller grunts that ran below them.
"WhoooO! Another nice hit, thank you thank you~" He cheered before setting the gun to cool down once more before picking up the comm.
"How ya holdin' up there bro? The skies as active as the moving ground?"
