Lirath - Ground Battle
After dropping off some of the crew at Balisair, it was time for the crew to set course for Lirath. The situation greeting them wasn't the most promising.
The cracked surface of the moon called Lirath was one of its most unmistakeable features. One of the three moons of the planet Kehoe, it had been terraformed and served as a settlement for a hundreds of different species, some humanoid, some not. Despite occasional class struggles, environmental issues, and speciesism blocking their way, the darker parts of Lirath's past were largely left behind, and an era of peace and tolerance had reigned for quite some time. The only problems they'd had recently were with a terrorist group whose cause for their actions had been a mystery, but they weren't tied to any particular species or social group and had been likened to a cult and had largely gone quiet in recent years.
Now the peace on the moon of Lirath had been shattered by the invasion of the Ohm.
The capital city had been destroyed. Now, all that was left of the peoples of Lirath was evacuating from one of its smaller cities, one known as Smyteval. A desert city, existing in a valley in between a rocky range of canyons and mountains, even though it was in the low ground, the natural channels of rock served as bottlenecks for any Ohm attacking from the ground.
GIA squadrons patrolled in space, locked in explosive warfare, protecting the Bleed-gate that had been activated to see the evacuated ships to the refugee world, and a shield created by massively-powerful shield generators extended around the city and up into the atmosphere, creating a shielded tunnel so ships could escape.
Word had come that there was a vital weapon to be deployed on Lirath, one that needed to be destroyed, hence why the Transmigration 9 had been called in. Given the diverse crew, and the ships that were in its hangar, there was at least someone or something on board that could blow the weapon up if it did show.
There was no sign of it yet. Right now, there was just chaos, streams of evacuees boarding ships, armies of Ohm engaged with GIA soldiers outside the shields, and forcefields that everyone hoped would hold out just a little bit longer.
The crew would be following Leon's orders but finding themselves fighting side-by-side with GIA platoons, full of various species that were currently all getting their asses kicked severely.

Re: GROUND FIGHTERS A (OHM)
But for whatever reason, this did not deter the girl who now stood atop one of the rocky formations looking down at the scene. Fully armored up in her dark red and black regalia in addition to enhancing areas with the Thorn Armor, Ronnae took a moment to honor those who have already fallen, and those who will undoubtedly will.
After a minute, she unsheathed the humming weapons from her back, one eager to spill blood and wreck chaos, the other yearning to bring peace and justice and end the war. No matter which she listened to, they each wanted the same thing in the end. Combat. And Ronnae wasn't going to impede that desire, in fact, she wad the burning want to rip into the enemy lines herself, the bloodlust slowly taking over her as a smile spread on her lips. The reddish aura of rage building rapidly till it was all too apparent that she'd enjoy this a bit took much.
With a mighty leap, she bounded towards a mass grouping of Ohm grunts that had been tearing a GIA squad to shreds, hoping to save the ones that were left. Her body easily twisted into graceful spins, flips and acrobatic maneuvers even tho she was wielding two large two-handed weapons and magical heavy plate armor. Her blades digging into the Ohm and tearing chunks as she dived and dodged the majority of the swarm's attacks. This was her specialty, this was what she'd been trained to do. Swarm fighting was what drives her into the deadly whirlwind of ravaging blades.

Nokosi stood next to Ronnae, eyes wandering over the fight below. With a nudge in Fontaine's side, he slid off the gigantic wolf and dropped to the rocky ground, immediately crouching low. The corners of his lips rose in a pleased smile. He couldn't have asked for a better vantage point.
Drawing an arrow and notching it, he took a step forward to survey the various areas enemies were pouring forth from. "Fontaine, you will assist Ronnae down below. Protect her rear and I will aid with cover."
As soon as Ronnae jumped down, Fontaine followed her, tearing at the arms of those who dared raise a weapon to him. Using his massive size, the wolf sprung onto his enemies to topple them over and immediately set out to rip their throats open and quickly end any struggle.
Nokosi, as promised, had been shooting multiple arrows at a time, each laced with a slow-acting poison whose potency built up over time. To keep the masses in check and allow their fighters a bit more time, he periodically launched frost traps into the oncoming enemies.
It wouldn't actually do any damage to them, but the massive ice slick it coated the ground with would cause them to be snared and make their approach all the more difficult.

More and more Grunts began to come out to stop the newcomers and destroy the remaining GIA units, this time accompanied by Grenadiers. Their ranged support proving deadly as they took out many more soldiers in their wake.

Once she gave out her order, she lunged herself at the incoming wave, looking for safe spots, and weak spots under the fray. Once thing that would be the downfall of swarms was the packed group mentality, which she had been trained to exploit incredibly well. Ducking and diving between them and jumping and flipping gracefully over them as her blades made short work of the massive swarm of grunts.
If you were close enough, you could easily hear the sounds of glee that were emitted from the girl. Almost in pleasure as the blood boiling sensation of the orcish bloodlust ran through her body driving her into a combat frenzy, and yet she'd trained enough to be in control of herself while exploiting the boon that came from the lust taking hold.
She licked her lips and grinned as foe after foe fell in a bloody mess on the ground. "You picked the wrong planet to assault sweetheart, but don't let that deter you from coming at me. I'll enjoy it thoroughly, don't you worry none~!"

Almost at once globs of viscous, gastric liquid bubbled from the creatures and soared through the air in wide arcs. It splattered to the ground, burning grass, flowers and sizzling on the earth that was quickly pulling the liquid into the ground. Some type of acid? It seemed like it; that spelled bad news for all those who fought just beyond reach of the ranged Ohm.
Nokosi quickly removed a thicker, sturdier arrow from his quiver and attached a small, circular trap to it. The alchemical fire that was held within would be sure to serve as a small distraction while he picked them off. Aiming high, he pulled the string taut, then released and watched the arrow glide to its destination. It exploded on impact, sending sticky globs of red-orange fire every which way. It clung to anything it could--armor, hair, limbs, exposed skin, and continuously burned away at its victim.
With a lick of his lips, his tongue slid to the corner of his mouth and remained as he peered down at the tangle of bodies below and set up his next few shots. Two arrows this time; one a standard poison, while the other had a small explosive charge attached to it. After applying a bit of force, he knew he could follow up with a spread of your everyday shot.
Nokosi notched both arrows with practiced speed, aimed, then let them sing towards the Grenadier that was front and center. If he'd had the time, he would have sat and watched both charges go off with a sort of pleased glee.
The thing he loved about exploding arrows? You didn't have to aim for an instant kill for your shot to matter.

That alone gave her the driving force to continue her assault without having to worry, which translated into very, very bad news for her opponents who found themselves facing a relentless killing machine, trained to take down numerous behemoths greatly larger than them and swarm fighting numbers greater than the once currently upon her.
It was with a great leap that a bunch of the huddled up Grunts got blasted away after the shockwave was sent in every direction. She bellowed another empowering shout for her and her teammates before charging another group, making quick work of them as she tore into them like a banshee out of hell.

As the rumbling grew louder the earth beneath the team began to crack and in a burst of rocks, gravel and dirt, a massive worm burst from the ground, a deafening roar coming from it's massive maw.
Alongside it stood two tanks that had made their way from the swarm. It appeared that if they weren't going to be pulling any punches.
