Even the door crashing down didn't seem to faze Jamie, as he moved back a foot or so before coming to a stop and standing there rather placidly. Only the fact that his eyes blinked more rapidly for a few seconds gave any indication that maybe, on some level, he had noticed what had happened.

The sound of the water here was much louder, appearing to come from the ceiling, focused in a nearby area where a hatch was located. A panel was set into it, with smaller squares inset into it, much like a sliding puzzle. The door also had a panel as well, but it was much larger, with various bits and bobs and gears and levers and latches and other things attached to it.

Jamie continued to look blankly at it, then very, very slowly lifted his head up to where the hatch was, moving over towards it. Just as slowly, he lifted his arms, and although he wasn't a tall man, he was just tall enough to be able to reach the sliding pieces and begin to move them about the panel.
