"Speaking my mind, being one that can appreciate doing things on my own, is a gift I had to earn for myself. I've even learned that some of the things I say result is some pretty dire consequences. Earlier today, I inadvertently said something cruel to a friend of mine. That is the consequence that comes with speaking and not thinking: you can say the wrong thing."

She nodded. "I agree with you, on a certain level. It is true that people need to change, not just the world itself. In actuality, in my world much conflict came after saving the world from its destruction. But I can also tell you that people who believed in us, cared about what we were doing, did so because we got involved in trying to prevent the destruction of their world, their livelihood. It may be a selfish reason at first, but out of that they can see that progress happens because we work together."

But she understood and respected what he was saying too: in fact, she believed they both was right.
